I struggled between Patterson and Onana both superb tonight, went for Patterson just , I can see it forming very nicely this team, although it won’t matter a jot if more forwards are not brought in double quick .Don’t blame Frank for making no subs with that “selection “ to pick from . Team spirit looks fantastic

Yeah you keep hearing about how good these teams like Leeds and Brentford are, how good their managers are, and how we should recruit more like them, yet when we get a draw at their place it’s the worst result ever and we should be battering them on their own patch.

We’re nowhere near good enough o be complaining about away draws. That’s four unbeaten now, considering we were losing for fun last season every single game I’ll take that as a small step forward.

Why is the prevailing narrative that Leeds are amazing? Finished lower than us last season.
But this isn't last season, it's now.

They have signed Aaronsen, that new RB who I can't be arsed to check how you spell, two new central midfielders, Sinisterra, all for their first team. They are all settled in and came in early. They had no players bar Firpo and Ayling - who they have cover for - out today, as Bamford was back on the bench.

Everton have 4 guaranteed starters out, 1 player in Holgate who has played well recently, and a new striker who would have started this game, and key recruitment has been left to the last minute

We started off really well last season yet ended up struggling (I know it's still early days) we're now playing catch up with the RS, Arsenal and West Ham coming up (again I know it's still early days) and look cack.
We look much better in the last few games IMO than we did for large parts of last season.

We've lost the same number of games as Chelsea and Man Utd, mate.

I was planning on watching the game later this evening but unfortunately someone spoiled it for me. 1-1 draw. Would have loved 3 points obviously but I think this is a good point. A loss would have been a few kick in the gut. I hope this team realizes how close they are going and can get a big win at Goodison against the RS.

Yes our recruitment is shocking but it doesn't change the fact that the broadcasters are talking them up like they are a significant force which is nonsense.

'Leeds usually force people to play their way.' Etc, Really, their way had them a game away from the championship.

What is your perception of fine? I was brought up on nil satis nisi optimum, not seeing 15th as "fine"
With the current state of the club and the squad, Fine would be staying up imo. Obviously we want to be competing for top 4 and silverware but this isn’t the Everton of the 80s. We are a very average/below average club across all parts. Hopefully we are doing the right things to build a strong foundation for the future.
