Yes our recruitment is shocking but it doesn't change the fact that the broadcasters are talking them up like they are a significant force which is nonsense.

'Leeds usually force people to play their way.' Etc, Really, their way had them a game away from the championship.
They beat Chelsea 3-0 in their last home game and have started the season well.

What is your perception of fine? I was brought up on nil satis nisi optimum, not seeing 15th as "fine"
Mate forget 69/70 and the 80's team....we are muck now that needs building slowly but surely. Lampard is recognising the problem areas and sorting it on a budget and only has the attack to rectify now. Accept where we are and it becomes easier on the health.

Not expecting us to be challenging for mid - table to tell you the truth mate, after last season though it would have been nice to have looked like we could kick - on this season. Will reserve judgement though till the window shuts and after our first 10 games.
We have played 5 games without a striker and last season each of those games would have ended up in defeat because the defence was awol and the midfield was awol. We look stronger in those areas now barring attack. At least it is a start

Yeah you keep hearing about how good these teams like Leeds and Brentford are, how good their managers are, and how we should recruit more like them, yet when we get a draw at their place it’s the worst result ever and we should be battering them on their own patch.

We’re nowhere near good enough o be complaining about away draws. That’s four unbeaten now, considering we were losing for fun last season every single game I’ll take that as a small step forward.

We have been competitive in each match.

We also probably have 6 or 7 to add to that team today as well, with signings and players returning from injury. When they come back, hard not to conclude we would turn a lot of these tight games into wins.

At the risk of sounding a bit like Gary Neville, I actually quite like this team. Some may be limited, but they are never found for effort. They ran themselves into the ground tonight.

We look much better in the last few games IMO than we did for large parts of last season.

We've lost the same number of games as Chelsea and Man Utd, mate.
Yep, and by the odd goal - no spankings like those two. Baby steps, but think we’ll be OK now (no thanks to the Board, but because we seem to have a team spirit and we have a few returnees who could make a difference). We don’t have what we need to be successful but we should be able to steer clear of another relegation battle.

As I said earlier mate, if that was against us we would be calling it a good spot by VAR and the right decision.
Yep.

It’s frustrating. Just because the other manager says it’s lucky doesn’t mean it’s wrong. He could be saying we got lucky he was marginally off, he could be saying we got lucky because of shape was horrendous.

We all wanted it to be on, but it wasn’t.
