I'm saying this as I like Patterson. But I think I'd prefer Patterson, or any defender, not to bother entering the space to create an opportunity for a goal if they're not going to nail it.
I think Id prefer the 20 year old to do it over and over again until he gets better and nails it. If he doesnt have the confidence to believe in himself, he shouldnt be on the pitch.

It's been said many times but still: With the tolerance approach announced before the season, VAR & Stockley Park made again mistake with us. Gray's goal should have stood.

That's a good point. We were unfortunate.

Agree, literally every single pundit and journo had it down as Leeds win on balance we where very very unlucky not to win it, Gray 99/100 that goals given (if it's against us I'm certain it stands) and Patterson should have buried it at the end, Leeds huffed and puffed with loads of possession but did nothing with it imo

Look in the form Leeds were in that's actually a decent point, plus it was a very good defensive performance in my opinion. It's a testament to our recruitment this Summer though that each of our signings were among our best players today and all looked very good. I'm delighted with Tarkowski and Coady at the back, Patterson grows with every game, same with McNeil thought he was very good today up and down the pitch and Onana looks immense in midfield already.

What I would say is if I were Allan, a Brazil international who's played for a great Napoli side and Andre Gomes, Portugese international who's played for Barcelona, I'd be disgusted with myself looking on from the bench watching Tom Davies give that sort of performance and not being able to even sub on for him, nevermind get in the team ahead of him, he's awful and what does that say about them. I hope with Gana and hopefully Garner or Dendockner coming in it'll mean the end of the three of them having Everton careers.

With you on that with the exception of the last paragraph. Andre Gomes is a ghost and would have been a disaster in that game last night, it would have passed him by. Not sure what the deal with Allan is, he’s probably being kept injury free so he can be moved on.

The only positive I can take from tonight is it was an outstanding defensive display. That's massive for us. No way we see that out last season. We lose that every week.

Onwards and upwards blues ?
Put Gana into that team, Onana can push further on with Iwobi. Top it off with a striker leading the line and we’re actually fairly half decent.

I gave my pick to McNeil - others probably deserve it more but the lad gave everything summed up by the way he ran virtually the full length of the pitch after Leeds had broken away following one of our corners/ free kicks near the end of the game to put in a defensive tackle. The lad was blowing out of his ass but gave his all and, hopefully, with more game time will get better and fitter.

That Jessie March is a prize winning tit isn't he!
It's another game where we win that with a competent striker. That said, 4 games unbeaten now with 2 of those being draws away from home against tough opposition, and we are playing some really nice football.
The points will come once we get Maupay and Dom on the pitch. Get Gana in there instead of Davies and the midfield is suddenly looking 10 times better. And the upgrade from a poor Michael Keane and a unreliable Mina to Coady and Tarks - who are consistent, who are leaders and vitally.. don't miss games!!! I don't want to tempt fate but I think we'll be ok this season.
Hopefully, including Gana we can bring in 3 new faces before the window closes. We need another wide attacker/winger and it sounds like we're trying to get a creative midfielder too.
I wouldn't be surprised to see any/all of Gomes, Allan, Rondon and maybe even Michael Keane leave before close of play tomorrow. Then it's onwards and upwards.

Can't stand Jesse Marsh. Proper ballbag of a man.

Didn't think we got much if anything from the ref, who bottled a lot of marginal calls because he was afraid of the crowd.

But thought we looked ok, pretty solid at the back and played some good one touch stuff going forward, just needed to be a bit more incisive on the break, few times when the switch of play from Dwight McNizzy was on and he tripped over his shoelaces or passed it to the oppo. I'm starting to quite like the team. Not sure about that forward line, at all, but get Dom back in there and we'll have a bit more to us.

Iwobi MOM for me, the geezer was everywhere. Class performance

I thought we deserved the draw more than the Brentford game which shows to me they are taking things on board and wanting to improve.

Once again, no lack of effort and endeavour and if Patterson just that extra bit of composure or the VAR operator learnt how to draw a line then it would have been 3 points.

Iwobi was immense, absolutely immense.

However, it was that 15/20 minute period, after half time, of passiveness that got us in the end. Once we started to push and press again we looked relatively comfortable.

Oh, and Jesse Marsch, what an absolute grade A prick he is. That over exaggerated watch thing, they get a free kick and his arms are still waving about like those big inflatable air dancing things. Constantly out of his technical area screaming at somebody or something. I understand passion but that is just over the top fakeness, I really hope that it starts to show in their performances because if you are seeing that on the sideline then, surely, as a player it is hard to keep calm, unless they just ignore him for 90 minutes.
