Match Thread Leicester City 1-1 Everton - Saturday 21st September - 15:00

This is meant to be easy bit for Everton

In mid-August, the boffins at Opta did some sums and deduced that of all the 20 Premier League teams, Everton had the easiest 10 fixtures to start the season (Wolves had the hardest, if you were wondering). Yet after four matches, Everton sit bottom of the table having lost all four matches, to Brighton, Tottenham, Bournemouth and Villa. After making their worst start to a season since 1958-59, Saturday’s trip to Leicester already feels like a crucial match in the fight against relegation, which remains a disastrous financial prospect and the worst way to say goodbye to Goodison Park. Everton face all three promoted sides in their next six matches and must start to pick up points, before the tougher fixtures arrive. Michael Butler

I read that earlier, too. It's weird because according to some very vocal posters we've had a really difficult set of fixtures.

The Bournemouth disaster aside, Brighton at home, Villa and Spurs away are tough fixtures.

I suspect the "easiest run of fixtures" is yet to come as we now have Leicester, Palace, Newcastle, Ipswich, Fulham and Southampton in the next 6.

So 6 of our first 10 games are teams in the bottom half of the table

Hopefully Saturday is when we start to turn it around.

Nervous about this one.

Just purely based on the fact it will turn ugly if we don't pick up points

But if we play as well as played against Villa we should win. But we tend to be poor against poorer opposition

Surely whoever had to play us must have had some of the easiest runs??

If only we could play ourselves

Dyche will likely go

Pickford
Young - Tarkowski - Keane - Mykolenko
N'Diaye - Mangala - Iroegbunam - McNeil
Doucoure
DCL

Thats his tried and trusted way - don't get beat by too many away from home.
However I think that line up will leak goals as neither fullback is that good and the centre of the park is protected by Doucoure plus 2 very inexperienced EPL players.

And then there's Keane.
