Don’t know if @FOXINPEACE would agree, but I got this message after their game last night from my mate who is a huge Leicester fan, and yes he absolutely hates those klacker things!

“The last 6 games we have had over 65% possession and not won one of them. Complete lack of cutting edge! Everton just need to let us have the ball as we won’t score. Then hit us on the break, win a few corners and you will definitely score!”

Can only hope he’s right!
Agree with every word of it mate

Got to play a front three of Richarlison, Gordon and DCL, I would say. I would give DCL the Ancelotti advice, as well, of just staying between the posts and let Gordon and Richie do the running for him. As others have said, Mina is a must too, both in terms of defensive organisation but also as a threat in the air from set pieces.

There'll be a meltdown on here if he follows those instructions; 'Put your handbag down' 'Take off your high heels' etc.
I agree though...those Richy chances v Leicester in last game would suit him, just needs to be there

It's also not what he did for us under Ancelotti - he himself ran quite a lot. Nowadays he barely moves ffs

I know, I hate sounding like Big Iggy but there is an utter obsession in here with just legging it about the place. DCL is a striker, his job is to score goals and he ain't going to score too many from the corner flag! As you say though, if you're not on the verge of physical exhaustion you're not doing your job according to some people (the same people who are always perplexed by our perpetual injury crisis as well, go figure). It's why some people will still swear blind that Lukaku was no good for us!

Stay between the posts, Dom lad, get physical with the Leicester centre halves and get your head on a few. If he does that I reckon he bags at least once.

That's the thing though, he doesn't really do the latter.

And no one's asking him to run into the corner flag - we just want him to give a rat's arse and try to chase a ball at least once.

Lukaku however has faced the same criticism everywhere he goes, by coaches and fanbases, imagine.

He's obviously not recovered from his injuries. Maybe psychologically. I thought he wasn't too bad all things considered tbh
Between Benitez used his absence as an excuse so many times and people saying when he's back we'll score hat fulls, expectation was a lot higher than it should've been imo
He's not been great, but not shocking either

DCL is good in the air and on the counter.

One needs service, the other needs legs.

He have either at the moment?

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm on your/his side in this.

Fact is though, even I've defended him quite a lot but find it hard to see any excuse for his last outing. Sure, he's apparently still recovering - however he played a bit before the international break, then had that dumb instagram post about "working so he's back to full fitness afterwards"... Then proceeded to not even sweat for 60 minutes. Honestly, his last showing for us was on par with some of the Niasse games. Sure, he'll come back, but for all the "I wanna help the team" - I can absolutely see why Lamps put Rondon on the other day.

DCL hasn't been doing the latter and that's what he needs to fix not the running about thing, Rondon can't do what I'm proposing effectively and Richie would deffo be better out wide against these.

Lukaku bangs them in wherever he goes, that's his job and he does it well. I imagine most coaches are more annoyed about his inability to shut his gob about the next transfer rather than him not "running the channels" enough. Nobody calls a sniper a lazy arse for lying down for 4 days as long as he pops the opposition General. Not everyone has to peg it about all the time, it's a football match not an ultra-marathon.
