Leighton Baines & Marouane Fellaini Thread

If the only bit of business means we sell Fellaini and get in another Wigan player, then the question to the manager is simply......How have finished stronger at the close of the window eh Roberto?

Then someone needs to take Bill out and ask why did we sell a player who according to him, didnt need to sell?

Another bleak day for the blues.

I agree that'd be a legitimate question...which is why i dont think it'll happen. We'll end up one out and two in, imo.

Have you got a crystal ball mate ?

@AHunterGuardian reporting that #efc value Fellaini at more than £25m and that even an bid of more than this from #mufc may not be enough

You would have to laugh if moyes ended up paying the 28 he originally bid for the 2 players just for Felli and when you add to that they could have had him for 23.5 in july and given him a pre season with his new team mates. #DITHERINGDAVE

We need a striker, United want Fellaini and Baines.....and they have too many strikers. Can't BK leverage this situation and get Chicharito on a season loan as part of the Fellaini deal? Is this a daft suggestion?
Kenwright wants the sale though. That's the rub. Some of the proceeds for Martinez, the rest into the pockets of his backers for loan/loan interest payments...AKA as Other Operating Costs'/'Infrastructure'.

We're going to have to give Standard Liege a good chunk of any money we get so it's right that we hang on for more than £25m.

I've got a feeling we're not going to buy anyone to be honest.

For that reason, we should screw him and United over. They are desperate. We should be asking for in excess of 30 million.
At the end of the day, if the deal isn't done, it will get done in January, leaving us more time to get in replacements/a striker, or if Martinez's penchant for championship players continues McCarthy. I can assure you of one thing, Fellaini at 30 million or McCarthy at 14, I know which if those whose value will decline more over the next 4 months!

The only possible downside to this, is we have to have Fellaini for 4 months, and not McCarthy. It's hardly a con from hardballing this situation, is it? I'll happily put up with another 4 months of Fellaini, to avoid having the crab McCarthy! Don't sell Fellaini, unless we get a significant increase on what we pay for McCarthy from it (ie 18 million plus).
