Leighton Baines & Marouane Fellaini Thread

Why? We've acted perfectly so far with this - no player has kicked off, no bid has come in to meet our valuation of the player, therefore the player is still contracted to Everton and starting every game.

We're perfectly happy to keep Fellaini if we have to and Fellaini is obviously happy to stay at Everton if United don't meet the valuation; if he was upset at us turning down £28m he'd have handed in a transfer request in an outrage.

There's been no quotes whatsoever from either Fellaini or Baines; it's been purely media speculation.

Don't get me wrong Tubey. I really want Fellaini and Baines to stay at Everton. In frank, I don't trust Martinez on spending those money if they are sold. Selling Fellaini and Baines now is stupid at this stage.

He's the perfect director of football, but a nightmare of a manager.

Not really thought about it before, but it's very true that.

Huge balls up from ManU. They could have had him for 23.5 million but dithered which tells Fellaini he wasn't first choice for Moyes. Felli won't be too concerned by that though and, if he ends up leaving, so long as he doesn't say something stupid, he'll go with most Evertonians good wishes.

Got to admit that after seeing him spunk £5m+ on Kone my confidence has been shaken a bit as well, but you've got to give the fella some time to work with a budget.

Ive got a bad feeling we"ll blow most of the baines/fellaini money on half decent championship players i.e McCarthy and ince. would have a lot more confidence if moyes was spending this money. but Roberto deserves his chance

Anyway, I hope Fellaini and Baines stay. Even we only get Barry on loan tomorrow, I'm happy about this. I hate to lose our best players, especially on the last day of the transfer window for peanuts. £50m or Man Utd can koff. They have to pay over the odds if they want our best players now.

Back on topic, Baines stays lads. Take a step back and look at the situation logically and you'll see it too.

United won't bid enough money to allow Kenwright to justify the sale, and Baines isn't a lad who will kick off to force the move. It's that simple.

I'm 93.37654% certain Baines stays.

I'm 19.64646% certain Fellaini stays.

About right that. Hope they both do. Obviously.

I still see both staying here. Felli and his dad have a history of blabbing to everyone yet now all is silent?! I believe if Sir Alex was at the helm at least Felli wouldve gone already, but dont see him wanting to team up with the guy that played him out of his admitted prefered position. Both will stay and will gain a healthy wage hike for our troubles!!

Im happy with Barry on loan, McCarthy is a very interesting move as he could be very good in a year or two - I just dont like the price! Could we not loan him too and loan them a couple of ours like say Duffy and Lundstram? Win win all round.

I still want Ba, a poacher is so important to our success.

I still think Fellaini is gone myself but like you am getting more and more confident of Baines staying. As much as I love Felli if one has to go its him over Baines.

Today's defeat will ensure Moyes has to buy

I can understand people wanting a striker in, but I just don't see it.
Martinez, in his own words, believed he signed the "complete striker" when he bought Kone.

I know.

He signed one forward, the rest are not his signings. I'm sure he despairs looking at what Moyes left him.

Like others have said, the purchase of Kone for 5/6 mil has worried me, but it is hard to judge him on a few sub appearances so may turn out ok.

If its Fellaini out McCarthy in and that's it (Barry would come in any event) then we should not sell full stop

Martinez said we don't have to sell nor Fellaini has handed in a transfer request so why on earth we have to entertain Man Utd at this stage? Strange. It will be even more ridiculous if Kenwright decides to sell our best player for something like £24m now. Seriously, your mate wants our best midfield player and you sell Fellaini at a discount price (have to pay Citch price not market price now Moyes)?
