Leighton Baines & Marouane Fellaini Thread

Let's be very clear though:

Fellaini £27.5m
Anichebe £5m

McCarthy £13m
Barry LOAN FEES (Approx. £1m?)
Lukaku LOAN FEES (Apprix. £3m?)

So, I'm expecting another £15m approx. to spend in January. Kone and Robles was money set aside for Fer so doesn't count.

We'll only know how good a transfer window this was when we see what we do with that money.

So we've sold yet more assets ... and replaced them with more bought on the never never???

We've sold one world class midfielder and replaced him with the backbone of a relegated side.

We've got the same number of strikers as we had before. Don't get me wrong, Lukaku is an exciting player. Made up he's here but it is only a loan.

I can't wait to see the next year's accounts cos we must have made a massive cut in the club debt spending less than we've paid out, not spending anything last transfer window, plus all the extra new TV money.

How can it be a good window?

If you'd have offered me that i'd have bitten your arm off. Especially this guy. True Blue, hope some of the Fellaini money is going on his new contract. Legend

Like the look of that.

"Just confirmed by Everton - Fellaini is a Man Utd player, Anichebe has signed for WBA. Lukaku, McCarthy and Barry all in," writes Andy Hunter. 11.17 pm

Spent 13m + loan fees (lets be generous and say 18m max)

received 32m for a vital midfielder and squad striker.

Good business yes, but for Bill and Co. again

I'm not to bothered about losing Fellaini which is surprising as I was one of his biggest fans but over the last 14 months, he just hadn't improved, due to changing positions. Cant wish him luck because of his new manager.

Some cant see past their vitriol and uninformed hatred. If you cant see today as a good days work from the club you need help.

Some will never be happy, Im relieved Im not like them.

One of our best players gone for the equivalent of a few loans and a bunch of players from Wigan.

James McCarthy will be the only first 11 player in a year so weve effectively swapped Fellaini for him.

I'm assuming that the money we've just made we'll whack on a proper striker signing next Summer or in Jan.

Whole window was a disgrace;

3 loan players -- loan fees (?)
3 wigan players - 19.5 mil
1 ex wigan player - 1.5mil

21mil + 3 loan fees with no options to buy. Probably all the Fellaini money gone and the only one who will be in the first eleven next season is McCarthy.

Not splitting hairs but not quite accurate as Barry is out of contract at end of year so ne option to buy needed. If he does well we could keep him for nothing.

Simply has to. Make him the highest paid player as he is that important to us. If we lose a chunk of the transfer fee by tying him down again long term then we all would say that is good business.

If all the paper work has gone through OK then I am satisfied. Baines still here, we all knew felli was going and we got more than the buy out clause. McCarthy, I think will prove his worth, Barry is experienced and will do ok. A beast of a forward (albeit on loan). Yes not a bad days work. More to come in January.
Some people are just too cynical on here and I really don't think they would even be satisfied if we landed Messi. Moaning for moaning sake. Now lets get behind the manager and the team.

One honestly does wonder what dirt Fellaini has got on Moyes that he keeps breaking the bank to keep him happy.

27.5 million pounds for Marouane Fellaini is MADNESS:

15 Mil was too much.

Hes a 12 mil player all day long.

Do I care? Do I fook. Kerching! Well played all involved.

Come on... we've done good business. The way football is at the moment you have to be a strong as you can at the end of every transfer window, which I think we are. If the loan players help us secure a higher league position than we would have done without them, it has been worth it.

Easy? we kept possibly the best left back in Europe, signed a premier league winning England international, signed LUKAKU, signed one of barcas most exciting youngsters.

I know your going to say "but its only on loan" but so what? enjoy them while they are here.

Gonna miss the big Belgian nutter.

Think he's been nothing but professional all the way through the window. Still played to his max and didn't complain.

Good luck.
