Just re-watched the goal and the refereeing decision to allow it, and Baines is marching around telling our players to calm down and not to protest.

Sometimes our players need to pick up the pace, passing it around the back slowly when we're losing is ridiculous...
Recently whenever there is space in front of Baines, he slowly meanders into the space and then passes it backward to the CB... would like to see him try and drive forward more like Coleman does. He doesn't really cross anymore (not that anyone in our squad can head a ball anyway) although that low cross/pass to Mirallas in the second half was great.

I agree, he doesn't seem to have that part of his game any more.
When he very first got game time for us, and when he got England caps he would never drive forward, almost like it was a confidence issue.
Maybe his legs are getting a bit tired, or maybe he's still not 100% yet after a few injuries. Hopefully he gets it back soon.

There were a couple of times vs Stoke where I thought he was in a perfect position with no stoke man near him, and I was nearly screaming for him to whip it in like the old days, but he ended up doing a cutback, which seems his default these days.
Particularly since I've recently watched highlights of a game vs united from a few years back (the 4-4 maybe?), and he was putting perfect ball after perfect ball straight onto the foreheads of Cahill & Fellaini.
While I accept Lukaku doesn't have the aerial ability of those 2 (tho he probably should, with his size), it would be nice to see those crosses again. If nothing more, if they're in the right place, they're just a massive pain in the arse to defend.
