Leighton Baines

It's a good point mate because i felt Galloway wasn't dropped just because of Baines and who he is, I felt Galloway needed a breather. But tonight Baines let the team down and so the shirt should go back to Galloway to lose ( or keep )

I love Baines, absolutely love the fella but it was simply unacceptable for a top pro and one of the most experienced players to play like he wasn't arsed tonight
Probably right about the rest. If Martinez starts Joel, Galloway, and makes sure Mori is always in the side this season won't be a total waste which it currently feels like.

Effort lacking even with Osman tracking back, which he did decently, Baines couldn't close on crosses and just didn't seem like he wanted it. Not to mention his service in the box, especially when we needed him to deliver was woeful.
you are searching for a criticism that isn't there with that one, didn't see a huge problem with Baines tonight at all, in fact lately I would say he is getting back nicely after a long lay off, doesn't help that it is the left back that is hung out to dry in Bobby's preferred one winger system

Think rather than searching for criticizing you're shifting it to Martinez. Not even close to true that he was hung out to dry. Osman could barely get up the pitch and so was regularly in a position to help cover. Baines simply hasn't the pace to stay with any winger anymore and even when he stood them up he let weak crosses get by him without closing enough. I'd rather he wasn't physically past it so tonight I don't think he gave all he could.

I don't think he played as badly as you think he did, so I don't particularly need to shift any blame, as I said I don't think all of the critiques you made actually exist, it's was Osman's inability to keep up with a grown man that cost us the first goal, he perpetually drifts inside which is his nature, as in Martinez's preferred system no body genuinely plays left mid, so unless Kev or Pienaar are on the pitch, surely you must see this will hinder whomever plays left back

Pienaar drifts in too I honestly think you're just looking for a battle here ;). It could also be said that if Baines began to close the first goal down instead of turning his head and sticking a lazy leg down things would've turned out differently from then on. Didn't seem to hinder the defending of Galloway (Martinez's system) as I've already expressed he is twice the 1v1 defender Baines is.

Crap tonight, I know he's been injured etc but honestly since he's been back i'd rather Galloway. Even Baines ball crossing has gone a bit off? I mean, we all knew he couldn't take a corner (who the hell can) but he doesn't even get the decent free kicks any more, and his general inter-play has been lacking.

Not sure if this is all just fume from tonight but I would've thought Baines would've turned up y'know.

I've seen galloway have good and bad games, I've seen Baines have good and bad games, doesn't mean the system the manager seems set upon helps them. Pienaar drifts in every now and again, when the space is there and its the right decision, he doesn't do it naturally as a course of instinct like osman, cleverly or even kone, plus his work rate and athleticism is so far ahead of Osman's, I can't even imagine what it must be like have kev and pienaar in front of you one week then osman the next. Baines is still the number one left back at the club and rightly so

He was one of our better players tonight.

Really not sure where the criticism is coming from.
Dunno maybe it was my frustration getting the better of me but there was a few occasions tonight where I thought he was slow or half arsed in cutting out crosses and playing simple balls.

Agree to disagree and I started all this out by saying that his reign as first choice is beginning to come to an end not that he should never start again.
