Leighton Baines

Then if he is not good enough we will buy a left back.

Galloway will get a season under his belt so I really don't see how that is going to do him any harm.

Wouldn't be surprised to see is in for Brady before the end of the window.
Also Brady had been strongly linked to Leicester at the start of the summer, whilst Walsh was their DOF. Considering there are rumours of Oviedo leaving, I'd be more than happy at Brady coming to the club.

Anti Baines yet is a staunch supporter of mediocre gash like McCarthy, Daves heads gone in the past year

Anyone whose been on the site awhile knows Dave's MO mate, pick an opinion/topic that's one sides in terms of popularity and go the opposite side of the discussion.

If it's his actual belief or not, who really knows, but it is something he enjoys doing, and the debates and arguments that ensue.

Sadly he is in decline....
Im betting youre basing that on his last two seasons? Were I to agree, I would say Coleman, Jags, Stones, Mirallas, Delboy, Barkley, McCarthy, Besic and probably more also are in decline. Or maybe Baines, like rest of the squad, performed like crap because he was managed by a crap manager?

He's never been as bad as he's been since the whole Bobby thing

Quite possibly. But at his peak, he was the best full back in the league and our best player by a long way. He could have left this club for greener pastures a number of times, but didn't because he is a Blue.

In decline or not, he is still a very good player. Get him a run of fitness under a capable manager, and who knows how close to his best he can get.

If you can't get behind Leighton Baines, of all people, then what is the point of this whole Everton caper?

Feel Williams will have a big impact on his game. Baines can concentrate on his game when he trusts the central defenders.

Baines was never a good defender? In his prime, he was one of the quickest left backs in the country. He almost always stayed in front of the ball, and he made it difficult for anyone to get out of the corner. He was also one of our bravest players under Moyes; he constantly put his body on the line to make a challenge. Not sure why people are judging his past form because of his current form? He isn't the same player because he is 32 and has faced several serious injuries. It happens- in fact, all of our defenders lost form under Martinez.
