Not been the same player since he played with Pienaar ahead of him... offers little offensively these days and caught ball-watching for the Belgian show pony to score today.
Yep Andy, always looks sideways and backwards these days, time and injuries catch up with everyone, but he hasn't been great for at least a couple of seasons now.

If I'm honest with you Dario, apart from his time linking with Pienaar which was magical at times, I've always felt he was susceptible defensively and the last couple of seasons has merely served to confirm that.

For him to be effective going forward, the ball needs to be played ahead of him, making him run onto it and for him to keep going.

When he checks back and comes inside and then plays it backwards, it's symptomatic to me of a player a. losing pace and b. taking the soft option... abdicating responsibility if you really want to be harsh.

Shame really, but we need to find his long-term replacement in the same hurry-up fashion we need to find a striker and a replacement for Jags too.
We might have spent a bundle of money this summer, but we're still woefully lacking in some key areas.

Sadly finished too old - showing it now need a younger classy left back!
