Haven't got my glasses with me and thought you were suggesting he'd joined the Rolling Stones,seriously though Bainesy has been brilliant for us over the years but the demands of modern football require the wing backs to bomb from box to box,take on players,all that is sadly beyond Leighton now and whilst he's not our worst player we seem to be relying on him to play every game which isn't fair on him.
We need to introduce a challenger for him and I really thought Luke was going to be the guy, what has happened to him?

Turns out he's rubbish, basically.
 
The absolute pain to the eyeballs which are Williams and Jagielka are taking attention away from the fact Baines is past it and not good enough anymore, especially as a wing back.

Didn't contribute anything going forward and bad defending for Lukaku's goal.
 
More sideways than Arteta ever was. He won't even be on freekicks anymore now Sigurdsson's here. Possible penalties if we ever get into an opposition box.
 

utterly useless these day, the biggest negative I can say is martina is equally rubbish but at least offers something going forward, baines doesn't even do that, no wonder keane is having a confidence issue surrounded by these players
 

Was finished last season but we decided to not buy a left back and now he's pretty much the only one at the club who can play that position.

Every time he receives the ball he is looking to go backwards and yesterday put more pressure on the back 3 being closed down, I looked at Young yesterday near the end of the game running at players, don't think Baines once tried to go past Valencia.
I understand he hasn't had a settled player in front of him to play off but he seems to have lost it going forward.
 
Pains me too say it but he hasn't got it anymore. The whole lot of them are devoid of confidence though, I'm trying my hardest not too single out individuals.
 
If only we'd signed Tierney a year ago before he properly made his name at Celtic

He'll go to a better club than us now when he decides to finally leave

Would have been a natural Baines replacement

As for Leighton, I'll always have a fondness for him, but he hasn't looked good recently

Hopefully it's just a dip in form, I mean he was excellent against City for instance

Last season he was at least sound defensively (probably one of his better years on that side of the ball). This season he hasn't even been that
