His second best mate lives out there now and is trying to get Baines and bbf Miles Kane to join him. There's legs in this. Great live music scene in LA which is more important to Baines than footie.

If he can get a deal I reckon he'll go. Deffo.

Any idea when there will be some concrete developments?

Exciting if he goes.. shows we will have a clean sweep :)

He should do at least another season - he's more than good enough to still play at the highest level.

I dunno yano.

He, of course, looks a shadow of the player he was, looks like he really struggles to get up and down.

He would do a job for sure, but I doubt he could play the way Silva likes his LBs to play.

More than good enough to stick around and be an option, but I would certainly be looking for a first choice LB.

Would keep him as back up but we desperately need a new number one. However like Rooney I feel he's another player who seems too big a name to drop. The top level managers have little problem but you always sense the likes of Silva/Koeman/Martinez level managers feel obliged to play these type of players.

Im hoping Silva in fairness has more steel about him and sets out clearly to the club what we need to progress.

Be mental to let him go given how much dross we have in the squad. He shouldn’t be first choice next year, but he’d still get plenty of game time. It’s a squad game.

..much depends on how Brands and the new manager want to play. Baines will always be brilliant in possession, always great in tiki taki situations but we lack athleticism and powers of recovery in the back four. It was evident recently when he tried to stop a break but couldn’t and the opposition scored.

We can’t look at players in isolation, that’s the major problem with the squad that’s been construted. We need players that fit a strategy. I really like Baines but if he doesn’t fit the way we want to play we are best moving him on.

Have to disagree, Baines would not accept just a one year extension plus if he stayed for another year his opportunity to go USA would probably vanish meaning we are stuck with him. We need to let go now.

A replacement should have been lined up to deputise, learn and step in to see a seamless transition two years ago. He owes us nothing, best left side interplay I’ve seen at Goodison with Pieenaar in years. Wish him well in whatever decision he makes.

Still find it strange that Lescott was initially preferred at left back in that first season because of his additional height at the far post when defending crosses.....yet got out jumped by Shaun Wright-Lips in the semi at Stamford Bridge at the far stick. Free kicks v West Ham remain a highlight for me - top player & says more about the club than our number 3 that even in his advancing years we are a better team with him in the side than when he isn’t. Great player and hugely underrated by those that don’t know.

No idea mate. Only heard about it this yesterday. Didn't even realise that Alex Turner was living in LA. But it's all very believable. The three of them, Baines, Turner and Kane are as thick as thieves. Will get a few bob for him if he goes which all helps.

If he goes I can’t see us going big on a replacement. Could see Fabra and Bryan coming in both on the left and rotating, with the fees floating around they would come in for a combined £16 mil.

Or we could just blast £30 mil on Tierney!

Just leave, Baines. You’ve made the money and you’re constantly injured. Just for once can one of our players realise they’re past it and retire instead of clinging on until the bitter end? Seems to be a trend at Everton.

Fully expect Baines and Jagielka to have jobs for life at Everton.
