FFS Got to put my monies worth to that garbage. The german and French armies helped you considerably. We didn't send reinforcements over to finish you off because Australia was our priority at the time. Our mad king wanted to send ship loads of reinforcements over to quell the peasants revolt and the foreign armies that the yanks mustered to help them. The mad king was talked down because of what was believed to be greater resources in Australia. America was never a priority to us at that time.
We did leave a legacy for you though.....the English Language.
now when we help you on foreign soils we lose more men through your friendly fire than to the enemy.
Replying to Baines-hating in the Silva thread (d'oh).
He's been a magnificent player for us. Him and Pienaar were exceptional and since the latter left, Baines has been trying to do both jobs. Clearly for large parts of last season he was carrying an injury. His form since returning from injury has been much better. He's glacial compared to young speed merchants, but his nous and skills are infinitely better than anything we currently have. Yes we should replace him, but we should also show a modicum of respect to a chap that has been a stalwart of our team over many years. I'd happily have him as cover for someone new, not my money to comment on his salary, but we signed the contract so we should at least be honouring our part of it.
