The French were a great help, no doubt. Y'all had pissed them off so much over the years they did it out of spite. Well played. Ben Franklin didn't have to sell this one too hard to the French.
Germans? Other than Von Stueben and a handful of Prussians, nothing compared to the mercenary Hessians y'all sent over.

Australia - the penal colony? Is that your escape argument? Good choice there, the kangaroos and the dingoes. Two US states (California and Texas) have larger GDP than Australia. Yeah, lots of things not to like about us: we're loud, lots of gun toting nutballs, open racism is apparently cool and trendy now, and we have generally bad fashion. Lots of things to like about us too. Y'all should have listened to the "mad king" instead of choosing an island desert.

Lots of things not to like about you?? Almost everything especially 'y'all'. Speak the language we gave you. GDP was not in the equation in the 18 century pal. Your worst trait is being loud I grant that.
 

Rags reporting that Leighton could follow Wayne Rooney over to the MLS with Chicago Fire and Philadelphia Union showing interest.

Hasn't O'Keeffe already said that Baines doesn't want to leave?

Doubt that something has changed that quickly for him or the management team to wanting out.
 

Unless they believe that Robinson is ready to step up then I can't see Baines leaving this summer, it would mean having to sign two players for the same position. I think Baines will stay, Robinson get another season on loan in the Championship and we will sign a new left back.
At the end of the season Leighton will leave and Robinson hopefully will be ready to come back and contest for a place or one of the younger players at the academy will push on.

I think you've forgotten about our lord and saviour Martina.
 
There is more chance of Baines getting a two-year contract extension than him leaving us this summer. I bet he's still our starting left back in season 2019/20, alongside Jagielka.
