Then we badly, badly need not just a new striker, but a new quality central midfielder too.

Sad times - we'll get neither and probably sell one of our better players just to add insult to injury.
 
Yes we clearly do, which is why we've reportedly been looking at bringing one in on loan, however nothing can happen until we know what's happening with Fellaini, so we don't waste money we don't have. Hopefully we might see a bit of either Lundstram or Junior mid-week so we can see if they are anywhere near the first-team.
 
Osman and Anichebe and Naismith should be sold for the sake of the club

Meh. Ossie did all right today. 53 successful passes. All our problems are further up the pitch. Replacing Osman with Gibson/McCarthy etc isn't going to make any difference if we are toothless in attack.
