I just don't agree with any of this Osman bashing at all.

People saying he is slow puzzle me. He is doing the job he is given - he gets the ball and gives the ball in front of the defence. Nothing slow in that, it is just two touches. He isn't going on big mazy runs up the pitch at half a mile an hour. He simply moves the ball on as the new system demands (often this means recycling the ball by going backwards). Furthermore, he still has some of the quickest feet at the club.

Martinez is giving him the job of not tackling, not running, and repeatedly giving possession away ?

He does have quick feet, but it's his legs, and their inability to run and tackle that are the problem.

Im not going to sl4g ossie off, hes been a great player for us over the years IMO and when hes played well, the team have. He was a major factor in games like Villa away and most of the stand out games the past few Moyes seasons.

But turning 30 just hasnt agreed with the lad at all. The ball hits him now and it just stops. All momentum in the build up, slick passing, trying to move it forward quickly...the ball comes to osman and just stops.

For me, id like to see him removed from the starting 11 before the fans really turn on him because he deserves better than that IMO.

If we keep Fellaini and glass legs can stay fit for a week or two, our midfield 3 has to be Gibson, Barkley and Fellaini.

Hopefully we can bring in at least 1 CM even only on loan. Were desperate now in that area.

I don't think I am going over the top when I say he's been, by a country mile, the worst player on the field in each of our three competative games so far this season.

The question is, though, when he's performing so badly and gifting away possession so often, why isn't the manager doing his job and playing somebody else in there? We need two central midfielders... Fellaini and Barkley have to be ahead of Osman in the pecking order, Gibson when fit, but what's wrong with trying out Pienaar there? He couldn't be worse than Osman. I'd even put Heitinga in there ahead of him; at least he can move and pick out a pass.

Of course he tackles and no he doesn't repeatedly give possession away.

Not running??? His current role is to sit in front of the defence - what kind of runs do you expect him to go on?

He's the white Makalele.

The only difference us, unlike Claude, he can't tackle, constantly gets sent flying on his arse and has the stamina of an old-school Skoda at 85mph on the motorway.

I think they mean running after the player who has just glided past him with ease. Never seen anyone run backwards as well as Ossie. The lad is finished.

I've always been an Ossie fan but he was atrocious last night, as he was against WBA. It's starting to really rile me that he's one of the biggest moaners when other players make an error. Reminds me of Neville chewing people out while seemingly oblivious to the fact he's having an absolute mare himself

Been gash since november, nothing new, until we get depth in center mid he will still start/ be first option when a starters out sadly
