Was very poor tonight, not that anyone else was much better but how he stayed on till the 86th minute is behond me. Everytime and I mean Evertime!...the ball was played into him he lost it! I don't rate Naismith but Roberto must really not rate him to not have brought him on for ossie when his aging legs had clearly gone after about 55 mins.

He's never been any good on the wing, these days even more so. He literally can only offer a cameo off the bench these days. Martinez really should be seeing this.

I take it he's carrying an injury because he looked absolutely dead on his feet.

There's a role for him to play in the squad but it's beyond infuriating for us to be relying on him to link our attack together. I'll be fearing the worst if he starts against Liverpool.

That's his age and fact his legs have gone mate, nothing to do with a injury.

He doesn't pick himself ffs. Absolutely no need for the stick he gets.
He was poor tonight, but you're right, it's not his fault that we didn't have any better options to start a physical game away at the Hawthorns. If he'd been on the bench tonight and come on with 20 mins to go he'd probably have made an impact. Such is life. He'll have much better games for us before he hangs his boots up.

He did need subbing after about an hour but I guess Roberto looked at his bench and thought:

McGeady- wouldn't last more than about 20 minutes and, if we moved Mirallas inside to accommodate him, we'd lose Kev's threat from the wing, we'd lose our balance and we the Belgian probably wouldn't pass to anyone or help out defensively.

Naismith- not one of the best passers in the squad.

Vellios- not someone who he has a lot of faith in and it would be a bold move to switch to 4-4-2 when we were winning 1-0.

I think I'd probably have gone with Tolos to try and push them back though, because they seemed to sense that we didn't know whether to stick or twist and that, if they pushed forward, we wouldn't take advantage.

There is a need though!!

Been at everton for 95% of his career, so he knows what a game like this means tonight. Hes one of the older lads who some would look upto and in a way, rely upon. He is playing in a role tonight that was so important to link our midfield and lone striker together. Yet again it wasn't there.

It is needed. He was exposed again tonight and you could clearly see how slow he was. Painful to watch. Gotta be his last year this.

The way he wriggles out of trouble and into space at times is bloody brilliant, not many in the world can do it like him.

That, unfortunately accounts for 1% of his performances. The other 99% involves him mostly on his arse.

He's been out of his depth for years.

Everytime he gets the ball he gives it away.

It's a running joke how long it takes from kick off till he loses it, usually within first 2 mins.

Do the honorable thing and retire.

Everyone keeps talking about Miralass out wide and ossie linking the midfield and attack???

Ossie played from the left, Oveido the right and mirallas thru the center tonight. Apart from maybe 10 mins before McGeady came on???
