Leon Osman

His purple patches were too infrequent and increasingly less as time has passed to the point of non-existance. Regardless of his form and the positive things he would do from time-to-time (inc. the occasional goal), it's what he didn't do e.g. tackle / track back with any pace etc (I'm afriad this list is quite extensive) that made / make him a liability and someone we must cast off sooner rather than later.

Osman has lived, breathed and bleed blue for the majority of his life. He has sacrificed more than any of us ever will for the club and he has been a consummate pro while doing so. Maybe he isn't Xavi but he is more than the lot of you haters deserve.

Sorry mate, image is a bit small

That's little Leon the blue on the right

Hang on....

Found it telling that in our best ever season in The Premier League (i.e. two years ago in Martinez's first season), Osman was the only Everton player to feature in all 38 league games.

He's not "top" class, never has been, but I've always seen him as a useful, intelligent, technical, versatile player. There were periods under Moyes where he played more than he should have done, but he remained (alongside Pienaar) the only player we had who could do something slightly out-of-the-ordinary around an opposition box. In fact, that arguably remains the case. I think Cleverley was bought as Osman's replacement.

Wouldn't try to argue he's one of our best players, but fulfils an underrated role IMO

Never understood the stick he gets. Hibbert, by all means, but Osman has been alright for us overall.

In literally every Everton side in my living memory there has been a player who a lot of fans didn't take to. Osman was the one for the last decade and Barry is arguably it at the moment.

Osman stats for 13/14

Played 38 (27 starts) 3 assists 3 goals

So Naismith has scored as many goals in a single game this season and Ross Barkley has as many assists after 6 games.

If that's him at his best I'd hate so see him at his worst... oh wait, I have for over a decade.

Like shooting fish in a barrel this has been today.

Never said that did I? Learn to read and analyse.

"king of hyperbole" lol, said without a touch of irony.
Boss little footballer. Up there with Pienaar and Arteta as the only challengers for best first touch since Beardsley for Everton.

Quite simply, if you can't see that, then you are blind.

He was a victim of Moyes and Cahill. A 25-year-old Osman playing as the, errr, number 10, week in, week out, would have been amazing. It's such a shame he was shunted out to wide right for his best years.

So he's in the top three?

Blimey mate you've had a rough 48 hours on here. Tell me, what is that gives you homoerotic urges towards Leon the Kopite?

Osman has been a great servant to the club and a very underrated player.
Everybody is entitled to their own opinon.
When we are linked with new players during the transfer window and I see some posters criticising the proposed targets, I look at threads like this and remember whose opinons are usually best ignored.

Is right mate, best to put @mythbuster and his Osman Fan-Fics on the list early
