Leroy Fer

This more than likely goes on in just about every transfer between clubs. The difference here is that we all know about it because the Twente chairman seems a right prat who can't keep his mouth shut and likes to do his transfer negotiations in public.

Oh great.

We're gonna sign him and he'll be boss for 2 months getting us to 4th.

Then he'll get injured and we'll get Phil Neville in midfield till summer 2014.

Then Fer will return and be boss for 6 months before being sentenced to 2 years in a Dutch prison for horse fondling.

Then we'll get Phil Neville in midfield until the Premier League introduce a mandatory retirement age of 50.

because we have a fanbase full of luvvy mugs and clowns its one of the reasons why I dont go many games anymore I cant be doing with any of them.

I cant stand the RS ********s but atleast they dont put up with any BS imagine kenwright over there no chance he would of gotten away with half the crap he does.

My opinion?

We never, ever had £8.5m to pay upfront.

Instead, it was likely to be approx £3m and instalments.

Twente haven't appreciated this, and want more upfront to fund other transfers.

(Also, unorthodox approach by the Club to announce the deal so prematurely was a tad odd?)

That's what I think has happened.

This is probably something that goes behind closed doors in a lot of deals in the football world. The problem is that the club announced the agreement with Twente a bit to early. Just under 50 hours until the window closes, and that should be more than enough time to reach an agreement when it's come this far already.

Their new owners loan out their £35m striker and bring no replacement in and wouldn't even stump up cash for Dempsey who their new manager apparently wanted. They don't take any BS though? You give them far too much credit

Slightly worrying but I'm confident it will work out. A lot if quotes, theories flying about I bet it's far less dramatic. Player wants the move so I'm sure common ground will be found.

Clubs don't "misunderstand" these things. There are formal written offers subject to conditions precedent which are accepted in writing and which acknowledge any conditions. From a legal standpoint, it is more likely that one of those conditions precedent is holding the deal up.

Jesus Christ. Thank God you don't go to the match with an attitude like that.

seriously mate what other clubs fans would let Kenwright get away with even half the stuff he has done at us?

2 failed stadiums,
"watch this space" fiasco
no cash for players
HAVING to sell to buy no combo of both
lack of decent marketing for a club of our stature.

Yet people CLAP this guy unbelievable.

Seems to be a bit of bad blood here though. Agent and chairman publicly criticizing Everton. I'd be surprised if this went thriough.

Target B needs to be trundled forward asap - if the daft gets have one that is.

This is all rubbish.

FC Twente chairman Joop Munsterman said the following on the transfer.

''We agreed a deal yesterday on the Leroy Fer transfer. Everton reported the agreed fee on the website and suddenly tried to renegiotate a deal today''

''During the day they came to us with additional installment demands and also new demands of the already agreed transfer fee''

''We don't play that game at Twente. They can come up with any demand they wish but we're not playing along with their demands''

He also said that he wasn't optimistic about any move for Filip Djuricic and Claudemir (who were ready to be purchased with the Fer transfer fee).

Just to clarify some things.

Fer had a meniscus operation a few months ago. A doctor removed some parts of the outer meniscus that was damaged. Fer was out for just over 2 months.
