We do have an amazing tendency to get ourselves in these kinds of situations. Didn't take a risk on a free transfer Demba Ba (how many games has he missed with his knee injury and how many goals as he scored?!), so can't see us budging much on this. Then again signed Gibson and Mirallas who have missed more games than they've played - what is it with our medicals?

Neither Gibson or Mirallas had any longstanding medical issues prior to signing them.

If you think a medical can predict injuries, well.

Yeah.
Basically passed his medical but EFC felt that his knees could cause some form of problem within the long term so they want to alter the payments to protect themselves i.e Appearance based etc.
Think for the limited funds we have EFC have every right to do this.
Although, people close to the club have said all three parties involved want the deal to be done, just a waiting game now i guess.
I think this is closest to the truth as we've had. I think its just a case of us being devious and they, in retaliation, are trying to be hard nosed about it. I cant imagine they'd want a player desperate to move on their books come thursday night.

Let the media speculate. Part of my job is to do with public relations, has taught me to always think seriously about committing to something you don't have to!
But the club weren't speculating on the official site were they? They stated a deal had been agreed, which we know it was, and that the player would arrive to undergo a medical and agree personal terms.

Sometimes the club can do no right for wrong. How often do we hear supporters on various forums take the piss out of our "official site" for not keeping the fans up to date on various things particularly transfers? Or for being far too slow in reporting news?

And when they do keep the fans updated, they're pilloried for jumping the gun!

cheers buddy , good to be back (hijack of thread but yea - i lost my auntie + step dad to cancer and my daughter was knocked over by a nutter jumping a red light and was pretty badly mashed up , all in the space of a week - which also just happened to also be my busiest week at work , halloween 2011 , and during my house being renovated and totally gutted.
it was total chaos to say the least. took 4 months to sort out house just in time for my daughter to come out of hospital , 12 months for daughter to recover fully , also had to keep my mum from going under from depression and the business from going under ..... but it took its toll on my relationship of 16 years . so i ended it and with my daughter moved out and started again from scratch in the past summer. found new love , got engaged , just found a house and moving in next week and married in 3 months. onwards and upwards as they say :)

WOW! sorry to here of your loses and what happend to your daughter i hope she has made a full recovery the break up must have been hard! and big respect for being a single dad with a daughter as i fear most blokes would just run!

hope the new love lasts fore ever fella! upwards and onwards!

It's hard to tell if Munsterman is really angry or just putting on a show. Angry people tend to be irrational and unwilling to compromise. But, seriously, wouldn't he have to know if there was any issue with Fer's knee? He's just come off a knee surgery. It would almost be incompetent to not know if everything had healed correctly. Maybe that's why they were trying to sell him quickly.

Sometimes having all this knowledge floating around the web is a curse. I think I would have been happier if I never heard the name Leroy Fer.

Sounds like you've been through a lot mate. All that matters is that you're through it and better off with the new love.
