Davek.
The club reported on the o/s that an agreement had been reached with FCTwente for the player,no other comment has been made.David Moyes yesterdayrefused to talk about the player because the deal hadn't been completed.
Are you suggesting that an 8.6m deal would be agreed between two clubs for a Dutch international player who then had to travel to Merseyside to complete a medical as well as the paperwork and that it wouldn't come to anybodys attention.
The club had to put out a statement.

Regarding the injury,a relatively recent injury. The club cannot afford to throw away probably 20m in total to a player and agent who will never play.We did that before with Williamson and Bilic.

For crying out loud people I'm sure there are various compromises on the table to get this deal done - if it's right for the club!

There's far too much negativity being put forward by certain factions.

The fact Fer has flown back home to holland does not give me much hope - too much of a risk at 8.5 million for our club imo!
Unless his team negoiators back down the deal is dead in the water!

On a different note, does anyone else find Davek extremely annoying with all his negativity?

he's a good poster mate. think recently he's cut down on the negativity just for the sake of it. he's been a bit more upbeat lately and everton go and let him down yet again. everyone's different, he's been through all the laughable lows this board puts us through, who can blame him if he's negative, the way our club is run is a joke.

i'm sure we'll sort something out with this fer lad though

There are some new facts surfacing in Holland regarding the Fer transfer.

* Fer can only receive a maximum penalty of community service work for the crimes that he has commit (he could also receive a fine). This comes from press officer of the Dutch court. They are also not saying what Fer has done (Dutch privacy law).

* The doctors in the hospital did 3 seperate tests on Fer's knee before they gave Everton the green light to complete the transfer. The doctors know that the knee is not the strongest but say it will be okay for him to play in the Premier League. Everton came back to Twente with a new offer and extra installments so that they would spread the risk between the clubs in case something happened to Fer. Twente didn't accept because they had already agreed terms the day before.

Everton have reportedly given Twente until 20:45 to accept their demands and offer. If they do not accept, Everton will try and sign another player on deadline day.

That's the situation at the moment.

he had to go back to pick up his stuff anyway. he's come over for his medical and done his medical. if we sign him, he'll come over with all his possessions (minus one horse) and sign on the dotted line

Collins John has four caps for the dutch squad, just saying....

Good point, well made. Also, considering how many people on this forum think that we should get rid of Heitinga (I don't agreed with that by the way) I think it's fair to say that being a Dutch international means nothing.

I think we should keep Heitinga, hope Coleman, Mirallas etc come back soon from injuries and make a push on in the league. No point risking what little money we have on someone who could end up on the medical table for the rest of the season if the fluid on his knees does not drain or the swelling gets worse.

If he's agreed terms and the clubs are still negotiating money, his club will ask him to return to train. I wouldn't read to much in to him heading back.

I think the club are right to renegotiate a deal based on appearance. Lets face it, if we had done that with Mirallas we would only have paid half the price.

I think it is likely that Fer and his team have gone back to try to cajole FC Twente into arranging a compromise.
At this stage the medical has been completed,I am sure that the terms of the contract have been finalised and is just waiting for a signature from the player. This is a deal which could be completed in five minutes..or not at all.

cheers for the info mate. twente aren't exactly going to roll over for us and let us have it our own way. other clubs will look to take the michael out of them in future dealings as well. They already have placements lined up and won't want an unsettled player in their ranks at the end of the day - it'll get sorted eventually when the two clubs meet in the middle

...i hope

He wasn't at training today.

God we love a drama on GOT eh !.The internet has a lot to do with this mayhem,we're told/find out a lot more about potential signings then we ever were 20 years ago.ssn/press /and websites has tapped into our need for info, and it all gets fuelled from there.
I've no doubt over the years there's been many arguments between clubs when large amounts of transfer monies are being exchanged,we just never heard them.it seems we want to be involved in the wranglings now !.
