How do you know the club hasnt been chasing targets from the 1st of Jan Davek?

Watch how many deals go through between now and tomorrow with alot of Prem clubs, Does that mean there all doing it wrong as well?

TBF Del, it happens way too often with Everton. I can think of a few seasons only when business was done in good time. Here we are trying to push on for a CL place and the lack of movement is appalling. The script with this feller Fer was almost written in advance, because we know how unprofessional we are negotiating and getting things sorted. As i say, if the window closes and we have our squad strenghtened, all well and good and apologies all round. But we leave it way too late for comfort.

His agent has just published this on FC Twente Online

Fer's agent Rob Jansen: Can't say anything right now. We're still working very hard, you can count on that.
Good to hear. Praying this happens as we need a midfielder badly. Anything but the return of Neville there once Coleman or Hibbert are fit to play right back.

If I had known you were so close to the negotiations and to the medical I would have asked you to take photos and get some autographs. Let us know when they will call you up again for your expert advice and analysis please!

How am I claiming to be close to the negotiations? I make my comments on transfers on experience of the Keystone Cops previous efforts. It's really the only sensible conclusion to draw that the problem is at Everton's end of things. You cut them way too much slack. They dont deserve it.

If, for example, we had spent £8.6m on a player, who's knees were not right, would you think they should maybe of picked it up in the medical, and atempted to protect their investment with clauses due to that fact? Or just spent it anyway? Cause in that case, there is very little point doing a medical anyway.

NO ONE ON WHOLE G.O.T. HEARD OF FER DEAL 2 DAYS AGO.

SUDDENLY LOTS OF ONLINE EXPERTS CLOSE TO DEAL.

AMAZEBALLS.

The knee injury is relatively recent and the club is correct in being cautious.
I expect that after surgery the knee will take a long time to completely heal and there is always a chance that the healing process may not be 100%.

The club made a bid,had it accepted, brought the player over ,had a medical and have raised doubts about the results, wanting to restructure the deal to lessen the risk.I don't see anything wrong with this and I still believe that Fer will be an Everton player before January 31st.

On a slightly different note, when I look at some of the anti-Everton posts on this site I expect that we have a few Liverpool FC supporters in our midst, they are very welcome as far as I am concerned but we should have clarity and know who they are.I am assuming that ,STEND and BLUENOSE 95 are two.I am saying this because there their negativity about everything Everton could only stem from a hatred of the club.

Yes, they should thorougjhy check it out. And they should leave themselves time to go on to other targets.

Let's see what happens in the next day or so before that window shuts. As far as I'm concerned they'll be judged on that. If we get no one in after all this time to prepare for this window then they're damned.

I suppose you would not be an Everton fan if you dont worry yourself senseless about something-it's what some everton fans do, whether it a player deal going wrong, team winning and then panicking we will conceed etc,I still expect the player to sign i thin.

We'll assess in 48 hours, I guess, but the fact Moyes has in the last two transfer windows identified a strong, ball-winning central midfielder as a target probably means he's more than aware of one or two more possibilities if this goes awry. The fact we've waited until the last possible moment to move for the players is frustrating, but it's the nature of the transfer window for most clubs.

I'm past the hysteria stage and have moved into either acceptance or denial, I dunno which one yet.

Two things:

1) The club shouldn't have made song and dance about it before it was done and dusted

2) I find it amusing that we're talking about this feller like he was on a life support machine...he's been barging about a football pitch for months scoring for fun and putting in crunching tackles. That'd be my guide.
