Leroy Fer

95% of what he has said has been pretty true. He just sprinkles on the negativity like the extra fibre onto the bran flakes.

No Davek will look to a negative tint on everything. In his eyes the board can never do good on anything. By definition that's a ridiculous position to adopt. I'm not in the anti-Kenwright camp but I will still point out various things the board screw up.

There are some new facts surfacing in Holland regarding the Fer transfer.

* Fer can only receive a maximum penalty of community service work for the crimes that he has commit (he could also receive a fine). This comes from press officer of the Dutch court. They are also not saying what Fer has done (Dutch privacy law).

* The doctors in the hospital did 3 seperate tests on Fer's knee before they gave Everton the green light to complete the transfer. The doctors know that the knee is not the strongest but say it will be okay for him to play in the Premier League. Everton came back to Twente with a new offer and extra installments so that they would spread the risk between the clubs in case something happened to Fer. Twente didn't accept because they had already agreed terms the day before.

That's the situation at the moment.

Sounds about right regarding his knee.

We're using it as a barganing chip and also to make sure the money we have (somehow) managed to receive isn't wasted on a potential crock. However, there is a risk it could have back-fired and we will have other targets at least lined up that i'm sure will be acted upon both as contingency plans and as an incentive to Fer himself to try and push through the deal.

On Twente's side, they are most likely trying to hold up the deal to make sure they either secure the cash they want 'now' (fair enough) and that they can have both or one of their Fer replacements (Claudemir and Djucic) signed.

It's on thin ice atm as far as I can tell with three factors:
Everton wanting to re-structure the deal to a) cover our backs and b ) pay a little less upfront because of a potential risk.
Twente want the agreed deal from Monday
Fer who wants an Everton move may have to try and persuade Twente to allow the move - but they're not budging atm!

Like I said, it's on thin ice. It will be sorted either way by (at the latest) tonights game.

But hes right mostly

Being the new Viera and the future of the Holland national team there must be a host of big clubs waiting in the wings to snap him up

Good point, well made. Also, considering how many people on this forum think that we should get rid of Heitinga (I don't agreed with that by the way) I think it's fair to say that being a Dutch international means nothing.

I think we should keep Heitinga, hope Coleman, Mirallas etc come back soon from injuries and make a push on in the league. No point risking what little money we have on someone who could end up on the medical table for the rest of the season if the fluid on his knees does not drain or the swelling gets worse.

Yeh that Van Persie is gash wouldn't taken that Robben either.

We could win the league, cup and champions league and davek would still complain, its in his blood, just get used to it

FER TODAY GONE TOMORROW - Looks like EFC are ready to look at other options as the Leroy Fer deal shows no sign of being resolved.

You get off on being first to post the negative stuff dont you?

:D
