Leroy Fer

Yeah, but the difference here is that we all know RVP and Robben by reputation and the fact that they are Dutch internationals doesn't matter. My point was that some of us think that because Fer has been selected for the Dutch squad he must be good. If that really was always the case then why do some of us criticise Heitinga. Also, Andy VDM didn't work out did he?

All the players mentioned are talented, though. In the case of Heitinga, VdM and even Drenthe it's their injury proneness or mentality which have let them down. Can't speak for Collins John like, but tbf he was very young when he was kept and was playing quite well for Fulham at the time. I blame all the gary's and prozzies in Amsterdam for their problems.

jesus christ, liverpool have only just bought that countinho lad, that took well over a week with no problems except the failed 1st bid. just relax yeah, it's only been a day

Another collosal **** up from Everton if this one doesn't go through. When will they learn?

Imagine announcing it on the official site when the deal isn't even agreed!

So our doctors gave his knee the green light, but we try and then move the goalposts? He is not coming, such a shame. We have missed out here.

Do you think Moyes would play along with a fake bid

Did Mirrallas have an op on his knees or anywhere else prior to his transfer to Everton?

Yes, he has been involved in most of the fake bids. The 12million Dirk Kuyt 'bid' being the most obvious to me, but there have been others as well.

No, Mirrallas didn't have any knee 'problems', but Lescott did, and so did Demba Ba, but they have both gone on to have careers playing at the very top. Whereas Mirallas can't last longer than 30 minutes before getting injured, so he must be worth about 25 pence.

It never fails to stagger me the constant amount of goodwill and benefit of the doubt given to the club when stuff like this happens. I sort of factor in the possibility (probability) that the club has their little helpers they set to work on forums like this to skew opinion their way, but there's loads of honest to goodness genuine supporters who fall for it hook, line and sinker each time without too much influencing.

Here's what what's in front of us (and correct me if I'm wrong on any of this): we stand on the cusp of a serious CL tilt going into the second half of the season and we need bodies in to make a decent fist of it. IF we get people then that's great. IF we get no one in having had all this time to sort it, the club needs damning. I think that's a reasonable overview of where were at and how we should be viewing the present mess.
