Why not take the risk when we are so close to fourth and are guaranteed a foreign Tv Windfall.

exactly mate for a prospect like him you take the chance as its in INSTALLMENTS, new increase in TV money and a gang of millionaires on the board who never invest a b*****d penny what a joke.

All reports said we didn't try to set a new price, just change the way it was paid, maintaining the drip structure but making a chunk appearance related.

Why would Twente then refuse to sell a perfectly healthy player on that basis?

Because if he gets crocked on his debut they miss out on a big chunk of the fee through no fault of their own.

Because if we fail to get fourth, which would not be surprising given the strength of our competition and recent uninspiring form, we are then ****ed but I guess that would be ok because we spent lots of money!!!!11111!!!!!

There are risks and then there is plain stupidity. We wouldn't want to pay out a large transfer fee and be committed to a long contract for a player who could be vulnerable to a serious injury.

The thing that really ****s me off about this deal collapsing is that we will never get to see the fume after Fer's knee blew up ten minutes into his debut. I think that the top fumesters here would have excelled themselves.

If he was to sign and then be out long term, we'd be screwed. We can't sign someone like that. The club found a problem they weren't expecting to which changed everything. Fair play. You don't "take a chance" with these things. We'd be idiots to do that. Idiots. This is Everton, we have no money to be risking on players like that. It's a shame but we move on. We did NOT have to have known in advance about his injury, we were RIGHT to have concerns over the fact that he's constantly in danger of long term injury, as we were blowing most of our budget on him and we were right not to go through with it in the end when they weren't willing to budge. Apparently their chairman is a [Poor language removed] and this is something he'd try and pull.

Lads. It's frustrating but while the media release might've put our hopes up the club did the right minimizing financial risks. I'd even go as far to say the deal might still happen. Also there's plenty more fish in the sea.
