Shame really as I liked Lewis and think he might make a premier league player with a bit of coaching and if he can stay injury free but you can't turn down that sort of money and the club comes first.

Do you not think he has been coached since he joined the club aged 11 ?

I think we may see Stanley Mills get more opportunity this season.

It could be Lewis Dobbin may have slipped behind him in the pecking order.

I also think Lewis may go out on loan next season, I can't see him getting much opportunity at Villa tbh.

Either way I wish him well in his career and his sale is important for us at it allows us to sign Iroegbunam and still make a psr profit.

I think our academy in recent seasons has played a huge part in keeping the club afloat.

The fees don’t get paid now, but they get put as the full amount on this years accounts as pure profit, which prevents both clubs from being near to breaching. So both players sign 3 year deals, at a cost of £3.3m a year but the accounts will show £10m

Genuinely think we’ve gotten the better of the deal. Dobbin imo was not going to make it here… was barely being used & he wasn’t showing me anything other than pace and trying hard,

Now we have an England under 20 midfielder who’s had a 40 game season in the champ to filling the Gomes sized gap… who was being used.

if/when Onana goes we won’t have to panic buy any more.

Good move for him and the club,
Hopefully he will back himself to get a game or two at Villa.
I had high hopes for him a few years a go,
Seemed to drift out wide more these days a more central position might get him going again.

Well considering Unsworth and Tait and have been in charge for those years then it's probably not been the best and working with Emery will be light years from those two.

Neither was Iroegbunam to us. The fee is high enough to be helpful for PSR without being suspiciously high for an unused academy player (Chelsea fees).

Im a bit confused by your comments.

The fees for both seem reasonable to me.

Dobbin has a league 1 loan and domestic 1st team experience.

Iroegbunam has a championship loan and domestic + european 1st team experience.

Both England youth players surely £10mil for either is a fair fee? If both go on loan to the championship for next season and do well, then that value will be a bit higher than £15mil id expect.
