Benitez was perhaps not the biggest thing wrong with this club long term, but he was the most pressing, most urgent, and most easily fixable. Of course that’s where the focus was.

Just because you and a few others decided to inexplicably prostrate yourselves at his feet doesn’t make that any less true.

He became an obsession to you and has blinded you to everything else at the club. Like I said, more bothered about Rondon playing than 27 years without a trophy.

Can’t protest against the board when fans can’t see past their hatred of Benitez. Now he’s gone perhaps we can actually get round to some objective criticism of the club, but I’ll bet that there’ll be more energy spent by Everton fans on criticising Rondon than anyone in the board room.

Most Everton fans only care about not being seen to be kopites, they literally couldn’t give two stuffs about anything else. 30 years without a trophy and they’re more bothered about the teams third choice striker. Says it all. Clap clap clap.
Correct.

The failure at this club goes from boardoom down to the terraces.

They support the arl arse club at Everton handing jobs to ex players who are hopeless coaches.

This isn;t the Everton I grew up with. It's a hollowed out husk of a club from top to bottom.

No pride or ambition left. A zombie club.

I walked out, after much thought I have to say, but I don’t need to ram it down others throats because they didn’t. It was a personal choice and I didn’t get a single bit of abuse. I think most thought I was getting off for a slash or getting an early HT pint. You have to remember that not everyone lives on social media, especially the “fawn Farah” brigade...but they’re as big an Evertonian as the rest of us.
We’ve allowed social media to drive a divide in the fan base and that on its own is a massive problem to resolve. Maybe an astute managerial appointment and some departures at board level might re-galvanise us.

It's only a problem online. I used to have a season ticket back in the glorious 1990's and loads of people argued with the people around them.

Thousands of people, mainly blokes and including many who are fond of a bevvy, with really only one thing in common are always gonna find a way to pick arguments with each other. It's not a massive problem, that's just the way it works. This whole common front and united fanbase thing is a delusional fantasy.

They’ll all be bought off for another year by putting Ferguson or Rooney in. Moshiri knows this as well.

Yes.

It's the most cynical club in top flight football.

The worse thing for me will be the players putting it in again...for a few weeks or months. The they sabotage again. And the fans fall for it like mugs EVERY single time.

It's so 'kin predictable.

That'd be the Everton fans who daubed graffiti on Howard Kendall's garage and stayed away in their thousands for the Coventry game while those present called for a bona-fide club legend's head. Only in the job 'cos he's an ex-player.

Yet not being happy with the absolute dross that a Kopite has-been serves up is somehow entitled and shameful.

What are the fans supposed to do exactly?

Genuine question.

I literally put this exact cycle on another thread. As predictable as night following day watch this lot suddenly look like footballers for a few weeks, get themselves through the summer window, then get to work on unseating the next bloke in before he can get them out.
