Can't help but think that Barkley is the right man to sit behind the striker once he gets a few more games and for all the effort Anichebe's put in this year he still lacks the quality that a top striker possesses, today that became even more apparent

I'm pretty sure there's more evidence out there of Jelavic scoring goals than there is of Gibson and Osman showing any glimmer of creativity. Our build-up play is laborious and predictable, which makes it easier to defend against - the thread discussing the Executioner's Bong article explained it very well.

We need 2 or 3 more midfielders (one of which should be primarily a right side specialist), Felli needs to sit in CM with Mirallas at 10 and Osman and Gibbo should become squad players rather than starters. That would be progress.

Do you seriously think that Gibbo and Ossie will become faster of thought and more accurate in their passing just because a more expensive striker plays in front of them? Do me a favour.

Neither were good enough. Although I feel they had the clearer chances today.

Our creative players didn't turn up (no surprise) and our manager didn't do enough to push and get them more involved. Again, not surprising

It takes top dollar to get those creative players that make all the difference. When you think 2 of our best and most creative players of recent weeks (Coleman and miralles) have poor games, then we were always going to struggle to open them up. It saddens to me to think were we could be in the league, with even half of the investment the RS have had in their squad over the last 18 months and yet they are still behind us in the league. It speaks volumes for the quality of the supposedly best league in the world, that we have even contended for a champions league place without a goalscorer.

We did lack creativity, but unfortunately we had to play against a 9 man defence for all bar the first 10 minutes of the second half. We've proved all season at home that we struggle when teams set up that way against us. The RS only out in the first half was a 60 yard hoof out to the wing. Still think that game showed a subtle change in their attitude to us. Oh sorry not allowed to say us am I, I meant the group.
