Victor's not perfect by any means but he is going to play (unless he gets injured) so we may aswell find the best role for him. I think we could see this is Moyes sticks with Cahill upfront:

-----Osman-----Neville-----Arteta-----

Anichebe--------------------------Pienaar

-----------------Cahill-------------------

4-3-3 maybe?

I had words with Moyes last night, the formation was all down to me. Thank God he followed it and got the result.:D

Good performance...

Howard - 7 - Couldnt do anything about the goal, and didnt have much else to do.

Hibbert - 7 - Some good balls into the box
Jagielka - 7 - Some great tackles, caught out once (penalty appeal)
Lescott -7 - Solid throughout really
Baines - 8 - Good tackles, and good attacking.

Osman - 6 - Ran hard, but had some bad decisions when it came to shooting/passing
Pienaar - 6 - A few misplaced passes, and not up to his usual standard
Arteta - 7 - Got the assist.
Neville - 6 - Allright i guess

Cahill - 8 - Scored
Anichebe - 7 - Didnt have many chances, but he ran at the defence (more than he usually does), and had a slight Pen Appeal...although i dont know why he didnt just stay up and cross the ball.

I wouldve brought off Neville for Gosling..but thank god Moyes didnt...i wouldnt have been able to bare the last few minutes.

Alright boys and girls, what an excellent result with all things considered. As was made clear by the Setenta commentary team before the game, our entire SQUAD cost the same amount as Fernando Torres who, by the way, was well marshalled by Jags and Joleon. Keane didnt even get a touch and bar his goal, Gerrard had no space either.
In fact that illustrated the class that we were up against, they had matchwinners who given one yard of space will utterly punish you, and it was quite harsh to see our battered and worn team going 1-0 down thanks to, again, a piece of individual quality from Gerrard. But, rarely seen in these Derby games, justice was done when Cahill nodded home that equaliser...needless to say I was uncontrollable when that went in.
Unlike Liverpool, and as I said before their matchwinners - Gerrard and Torres - we played as a team. Every player wanted the ball and every player worked their socks off to keep Liverpool out. Lescott and Jagielka were superb, but for me, I would give the man of the match award to Neville who was class in that midfield, clattering Gerrard early on, spraying the ball wide when he could, and throwing himself into some quality tackles. The whole team, in fact, was quality on the night including Pienaar who I thought battled really well and tried to play football when he could.
Considering the ridiculous injury situation compared with Liverpool's full squad I am absolutely proud, and feel totally vindicated, to see us walk away with our heads held high and a valuable point from that most awful of grounds, Anfield.
Brilliant.

why does keane look like an absolute no-mark now he's playing for that shower? i kept forgetting he was playing. do you think Rafael would loan him out to us for the rest of the season.....

(no more than 8 grand a week mind)

Im actually amazed that we got anything out of that game. Yet again we looked timid infront of them, and as I expected our more "flair" players i.e. Arteta and Pienaar both had off-games.

Also, im sorry Victor, but you are just [Poor language removed] shocking. I've never seen a player struggle so much to keep a ball under control and to stay on his feet long enough. He did well to get into the area that he did so why the [Poor language removed] did he insist on going down when it would have been easier to shoot?? It's because of that incident that I hold him responsable for their goal. I said it the other week, but he really needs to cut the [Poor language removed] out of his game - deeply frustrating.

It was also clear that we badly missed Marouane in the middle, which was part of the reason why Mikel looked lost throughout the game.

Even though Jags played well I actually thought Baines should have got MOTD, simply because he made the least errors (sorry Phil, thought Torres pen claim should have stood) and did well going forward.

Having said all that, im still [Poor language removed] made up that we grabbed that equaliser just to shut the fuckers up and keep them from going top again! COYB!!!

Sorry but i thought he had a good game today. He didnt get many good passes, but he ran at the defence, in some cases won a corner/throw in, sometimes tried to get past their defence, in which he did beat 2 men, but the third was too much, and he held the ball up well. I agree he shouldnt of went down so easily, but he did great to get the ball in the first place, and he was shoved from behind, so he mightve just lost balance. HE couldnt have shot from their on his left foot - just a waste of an opportunity, and he probably shouldve pulled it back, but hes young, and had a great game.
