We passed the ball around ok, but we didn't create many openings and obviously had a shocker at the back. They're a team set up to hit you on the break and we didn't do anything to stop that happening.

Can see why some people are saying we played Ok. We passed the ball well without penetration though.

Every time they attacked they looked like getting an effort in. There was an air of inevitability about it all tonight, I just hope Martinez can pick them all up off the floor and I hope it hurts them all as much as it is hurting us now.

Saturday is massive now, dropped points v Villa would be a huge blow going into the Spurs game. Delefeou, Traore int the squad, maybe start Traore.

I agree that we weren't completely woeful, but we were caught out by their tactics and didn't respond until it was too late, if at all. We deserved a goal I thought, but with no striker it's no surprise we missed out.

Coleman, Distin and Oviedo are only defenders with any sort of pace. With all three out, we needed to adjust. But at the same time, I can forgive Martinez for going there and trying to attack, it just badly, badly backfired.

I hope he recovers quickly, but I dont think Lukaku will be a massive miss, think we would have a lot more going forward with Mirallas central with Barkley just behind him.

Lukaku will be done for the season now, almost certainly. Cruciate ligament, won't be surprised if Chelsea request he goes back to them for his rehab, which will absolutely kill any lingering hopes we had of keeping him.

Nice one Barry lad. You go walkabout for their first goal and let you man score, then you injury our best (only) striker, get yourself another soft booking and play all round pathetic in the biggest game of the season.

Now we have Traore who doesn't speak English and knows none of the guys, and nobody else.

Doesn't bear thinking about.

Over to you Bill.

Barry lost his man and was at fault for the goal but come on man, injuring Lukaku was just one of those freak accidents. And his booking was a ridiculous dive by their player (either Sturridge or Sterling), he clearly never touched him and the player only went down 3 yards after when he saw he's lost the ball. His warning 15 minutes before was for another dive as well. Having said that, he did play poorly, but no need blaming him for daft things

Terrible tactics, no plan whatsoever for Suarez and Sturridge who ran riot.

Jagielka was clearly unfit, we really can't afford to lose him for a long length of time so hopefully he shakes off the knock soon enough.

Toothless going forward, but that's nothing new. Watching Naismith try to have an impact upon the game was just depressing, hardly his fault but it's shocking that we're supposedly chasing a top 4 place and he's our deputy striker.
