If we do actually lose this derby it's obvious that an awful lot of people already have the scapegoat lined up - Gareth Barry - whether he plays or not. In fact he could be lying on a Mediterranean beach drinking Sangria on Saturday and he would still be culpable in some peoples' minds :rant:
And I don't know what Jimmy Mac has done to raise such hatred all of a sudden :oops:

..I don't think Barry 'crumbled' in the home Derby. Losing McCarthy was a blow but we were already up against it for the final 15mins of the first half. Generally speaking we held out well defensively when Barry came on. It was the offensive players who were at fault, Barkley sat comfortably in Hendersons pocket, Lukaku offered no relief to a team under the cosh and the wide players failed to push either full back into their own half.
That wouldn't happen again with Davies and Morgan in the side. It's changed the whole dynamic of the side. Rom and Barkley are totally different players with these two additions in our team.

Really? From what I've witnessed almost everyone is pessimistic about this game. I do agree that this game has always been a mindset issue, but in terms of an away fixture against Liverpool, this has been our best shot in some time. Liverpool don't have a recognized striker and their defense is very fragile at times. I believe they will win, but Liverpool could choke as well. They have 4th place riding on the next 9 games, and they could go either way mentally.

If koeman can raise our players and change this mindset aswell as
A huge slice of luck then you never know but if you go of history and everything else they will beat us.

I keep trying to talk myself into a win but I just think there's a mistake coming from our back line. Williams and Jags have both got one in them. Baines against Mane is grim and whoever plays right back is up against it.

Sod it, we'll just have to win 4-3.
