..which is why it's perfectly understandable that fans are pessimistic about this game. The Reds have not been significantly better than us over that period yet our team continually surrender to the status quo. It's difficult not to see the same happening today.

I'm amazed mate at this. Given our history in this fixture!

You can do anything with statistics and my offering is that we've drawn 10 of the last 20 at the pit. Oh, and we won one of them.

So, that means that we get something there more often than not.

Just woke up and, as usual, the naïve optimism of the last few days has evaporated as pesky reality crashes in (they've only lost 1 home league all season). Don't know if I can face watching it. Might just look at the table when it's all over and if we've got 53 points I can watch the highlights not knowing the score but secure in the knowledge that we've won.............but how many times have I had this plan?

When I was a Lad, we had to wait for the results in the Monday papers (Tuesday for a Sunday game). As one of the rare "wog ball" fans out here, on the edge of the Empire, I had few sympathisers too!!

I had a bunch of mates and we played in a local team so we did pore over Monday's Age or Sun. What a treat it was to see the occasional photograph from a match. We were deprived.

There will be some recognition of the service Ronnie Moran gave their club for about 50 years. I'm old enough to remember seeing him score a screamer against us at Goodison in a Liverpool Senior Cup Match. Hopefully our support, although fiercely partisan, respects the moment - and then we can resume normal service.

The reds respected Kendall, if we do any less we deserve to get beat!
