Digne has been terrific but I don't see the need to discredit leighton...the once naughtiest left back in the league, Has given all of us some cracking memories.
Saying that though, I really didnt see us replacing him so smoothly.....well in Digne !!!

Baines is a legend and a fantastic backup. Digne is now the better LB by more than a little, but i dont think thats bashing Baines. He’s an older player now, and luckily we got a fantastic replacement before he went down hill, which would dirty our memory of him. Id love it if he stayed for another season as a backup, and stay with the club in a non-player job after that. He’s the perfect example of great player for us, could have left for bigger teams when in his prime, but stayed loyal through thich and thin.
One of my absolute favorite players, but shouldnt start if Digne is available.
