Rather have Baines any day. He spent half the game passing back to Holgate. Maybe there was nothing worth passing to up front? Not sure about him yet but maybe next season he will come good.

I felt Lucas Digne played well in the Brighton game and looked something close to his old self. Still appears to be carrying a bit of a knock though, so maybe giving Baines a runout to allow Digne to rest up for a game or two, might be a good idea.
He went forward in the second half and put a cross in that ended up going for a corner. He looked absolutely destroyed after it thought he was gonna be sick. Looks like he needs a month of sleep
Green shoots of recovery were there to be seen by Digne today.

really want him to get back to form but actually thought he was pretty poor, almost every pass he made went backwards and even is assist had to be well recovered by richie
been carrying an injury for weeks. would give him a breather for a couple of games. Played through his injury for Duncan, he's a top player. no doubt about it

He looked like he wasn’t walking naturally for long periods of the game, let alone running, and then his tweet suggests there’s more to it.
One of the hashtags was #grandfather, so I suspect something has happened with his family.
Sounds like hes had a tough week or two. Hope everything is ok with him.
His best game of the season I reckon today I reckon. Still not at his best but much better.

This was right in front of me. He was absolutely gasping. He is definitely not 100% with it. No idea if it is physical, second season syndrome or something off the pitch.
Better today against unambitious opposition but something is not quite right with Lucas.
