I read these stats with a pinch of salt - they may be our most creative players but that doesnt say much when they are competing with players like Iwobi and Gomes for that title.

Over time you would hope we bring in more players who can offer something to the side.

I would rather 3 players that offer 7/10 performances than 1 player who offers 9/10 whilst we have 2 others offering 4/10 every week.

And lets be honest - Digne has been living off his reputation since the purple patch at the start of last season.

Well yeah, plenty have. Personally though, and I know most people feel to need to pick a “team” in this battle between manager and player, I really don’t care about any of these players on a personal level and don’t understand why some people have emotional attachments to any of them. My stance hasn’t changed, I haven’t “turned on” Digne, I just couldn’t care less if he leaves, because I don’t really like any of these players and that includes him.

That doesn’t mean I like the manager either because I don’t, I still wish he’d never been appointed. You don’t have to be “team Digne” or “team Benitez”.

What it proves is that were getting rid of one of our better players.

We keep the bad, sell the good. The Everton way.

Can we all at least be united that Iwobi is utter poo?

Players get sold. No issue with that.

Creating division out of nothing to sell a player and replace him in a month by spending £20mill while leaving gaping holes that need investment...is where my issue is.

None of us know what’s gone on behind the scenes though do we, so we can’t say it’s out of nothing.

Pretty much the way I'm looking at this too. Backing Digne is a way of saying 'Benitez Out' and vice versa.

I see a player who turns 29 at the end of the season, who's coasted through the past 18 months whilst earning an obscene amount of money and is definitely replaceable.

People can throw stats at me all day but I don’t care, I’ve watched him and he’s been rubbish for a while, clearly a way below his previous level in both defending and attacking.
