Sad to see him go as i do like him alot

Still, we can get a good fee and use it to strengthen

We need to become better as a seller
In all fairness, I would much rather we kept Digne and Mykolenko because depth and competition is good rather than a semi like-for-like swap.

However, I can appreciate the view that Digne is now twenty-eight and we may need the money to reinvest elsewhere, so it might be the right time to cash in

My only concern is that, while Digne hasn't been at his best for a while now, is Mykolenko ready here and now to step up and move into the XI? I hope so.

The competition aspect would be good for both of them - preparing the new lad and getting Digne to perform so we could push up the fee.

His value will be determined by the quality of the teams interested in signing him.

I think he would be very disappointed if Newcastle was the top team interested in him.
A lot of it comes down to how we are perceived as a club

Under Moyes we fleeced teams regularly I’m thinking Andy Johnson to Fulham, Rodwell to City, Naismith to Norwich etc.

Decent sides always sell their players for decent money, as teams think it’s worth taking a gamble on those players.

25m is a joke. Going to be horrible watching his beautiful crosses in another team.
where is this quoted?

I think the very public slating by Benitez and rift will also knock a few quid off it unfortunately

Depends entirely on the suitors.

There are quite a few interested in him and good players are difficult to find in the January window. Clubs usually have to over pay for January players.

Given that Chelsea, Milan and Newcastle are interested I’d suggest we’ll do all right.

That's true, hadn't thought of that. If we can get 10mil more than for the new young lad I'd be as happy as I'm going to be now that I've accepted he's going
