If the club had any sense they would be touting Holgate or Keane at Newcastle for £25-30 million. It's mad when you think he's going for the same price as err Chris Wood
Its amazing how many people are not aware that absolute wronguns also suffer with poor mental health. He's a complete tool but he's obviously got mental health problems.
HhahahahahahaIf the club had any sense they would be touting Holgate or Keane at Newcastle for £25-30 million.
They are desperate at the moment and got cash to blow.

There is absolutely no way that either Keane or Holgate are better than any defender already on the books at Newcastle.Even if we don't rate them that much, we'd be strengthening a relegation rival. Just like Burnley are doing at the moment.
Its a very bad deal for these reasons.
Digne cost to us is:
Book Price: 7.2 mill
Amort: 1.2. mil
Wages: 6.2 mill
Annual cost: 7.4 mill
So we clear 17.8 million from the deal, and a cost of 7.4 mill from the accounts (however we have taken on the cost of the two new full backs)
The question is the squad stronger or weaker with Digne in it - to my mind stronger in it.
Secondly where are you going to find a better quality player then him for 17.8 mill transfer fee at an annual cost of 7.4 million - your not. Thats what people mean by the deal has to improve the squad/club - this doesn't do it.
Therefore a poor deal.
As for age 30 year old Chris Wood, is signing for Newcastle for the same fee - Digne is an infinitely more high quality player than Wood, pound for pound regardless of positions.
Bad deal and we are weaker for it.
We have a new left back and new rght back and saving on the wages from selling Digne so we are in a stronger position, now there was a small amount of cash to spend in January I was told which may of been the two new signings. Now selling Digne we may of added more cash to spend possibly
Burnley had no choice, Wood had a release clause, which is why he went for £10 million more than he's worth.Even if we don't rate them that much, we'd be strengthening a relegation rival. Just like Burnley are doing at the moment.

Its the only way we can spend though.
£20 million for Holgate probably allows us to spend £40-50 million FFP speaking on 2-3 good players.
We have to be a lot smarter with selling players and reinvesting like Moyes used to do.
We just dont wheel and deal anymore we loan until contracts expire and players leave for nothing.
