Hes here 3.5 years mate.

Signed for 18 million
Amortisation of initial 5 year deal is 3.6 million a year.
Hes three years into that so his book price is 7.2 million, obvs you don include .5 years in annual accounts.

In all honesty i was being kind his book price is actually 8-9 mill +, because he extended his contract last season which brought his amortisation down to 1.2 mill odd as opposed to 3.6 in his initial five year contract - so his book price would be higher and not lower then the 7.2 mill, likely 8-9mill, i was being kind.

I think your figures on our two new players aren't right either mate. ;)

Yes, 3.5 years...

2.5 years before extending his contract + 1 more year into the new deal.

£18mil cut in half is already below £9mil mate on the initial agreement.

Then the further year comes off the extension ;)

Show you math's, like mine mate? even with your reasoning im still coming to my figures. There is no way its 6mill like you said ;)

The other new full back signing are far more costly too.

Im not sure what doesnt make sense here.

If i sign a player for £10mil on a 5 year deal...then after 2.5 years his value on the books is £5mil.

A further extension (or not) then reduces this amount further.

Its impossible for Digne at £18mil to be £9mil after that threshold was already reached after 2.5 seasons.

Hilarious that we play Villa next. If we sell him to them this week and don’t include a handshake deal that he doesn’t play vs. us, then we are fools and it’ll be fun to watch them score a 90th minute winner off a Digne cross

Not sure we can do that on a permanent deal.

On paper this is a good deal but it's the way it went down is the issue. Yes getting £25m+ for a 29 year old will be good business but he's only being sold because he had a disagreement with the manager who no one wants and over something that the fans would agree with Digne, on top of that even though he's been poor he's still one of if not our best players. Not that hard to argue that it's good and bad for different reasons but both reasons are equally valid.
He's 28
