2021/22 Lucas Digne

I thought Godfrey was excellent at lb. He was a nightmare to play against but maybe overstepped the mark once or twice,
However we have been missing that level of bite in the team..
No way Digne gets back in after a performance like that.

Digne may have suffered from lack of competition, he certainly has not been impressive recently.

If he has fallen fowl of Benitez and it's because his attitude isn't right then being dropped is correct. Every player should be going out to perform a role for the team and not looking how the team can give them something as an individual. Perhaps Benitez is happy having a defence that is just concerned with defending and he doesn't want marauding wing backs which isn't great news for Lucas.

The problem is you need players like Digne to take you to that next level, to make something happen when everyone else has been marked out of the game.

Part of playing chicken is knowing when to flinch.

How much longer does his terrible run of form have to go on for until we are allowed to acknowledge that he isn’t that good?
we don't have another left-back at the club

he's been poor this year. He wasn't poor for us from 2018 through to the end of 2020 (he was great at the start of last season but then got injured in Npvember)

He was terrible throughout the 2019/20 season too. He is replaceable.

Rather than lose Richarlison or DCL, I would accept that he could go. He hasn't been on it this season. Historically he hasn't stayed anywhere more than a couple of seasons.

Sad to see some side with a washed up kopite with a history of causing strife and falling out with players over someone that’s been a loyal servant

Not arsed about who’s right or wrong in a squabble between him and the manager, I’m just commenting on his footballing ability, he’s an average replaceable player and we don’t miss him when he’s out. We didn’t last season either.

His form had been poor. I've no issue with him being dropped. He has to earn his place back like everyone else.

He is definitely replaceable if we choose to sell. Although I would expect 20m for him.

How do people know he's fallen out?

Literally anything could have happened? He could have a personal issue or anything

Is it confirmed anywhere they have fallen out?
No i think some are just trying to make up some rubbish about Rafael after having a good win, but its backfired since most agree Lucas is poor these days and easily replaceable
