Lukaku - A Fond Farewell

I never for one second believed he would sign that extended deal. We were only ever a stepping stone to him, and that's fine. He's dead to me now.
 
A fantastic player and a joy to watch at times. He absolutely steamrolled teams when he was on form and was unstoppable.

He's always been fiercely ambitious and I have no problem with him leaving, but I wish he'd kept his feelings about his future etc. to himself as the misery merchants will no doubt use that as a stick to beat him with whenever he returns.

I can see it now, Andy, Robbo and Stevo standing in the Lower Gwladys with their blood shot venom filled eyes, phlegm flying in all directions through their decayed teeth, screaming all sorts of obscenities at the greatest player we've had in the last 30 years. It's such a shame.

Very well expressed, and I totally agree.

Don't get me wrong sometimes he had a big mouth but he's gonna be getting dogs abuse for almost no reason.

For once Everton get their PR image/ campaign sorted- shrewd setting up of events there- I'm almost enjoying that more than the comings and goings- shows that they've got a clear strategy for once.

As for Lukaku, as others have said, yes he did a solid job for us whilst here, but never really bothered to even fake any really interest in the club (which is his right), so I'm not massively upset at his departure.
 

I'll always remember when he almost won us the derby, when he scored his first goal against West Ham by knocking himself out and giving us the win and that amazing solo goal against Chelski in the FA Cup.

But when he scored that goal against Arsenal and ran over to Mr. Phenomenal, I'd honestly thought we'd get top 4 and sign him on a perm the next season and couldn't believe what was transpiring at the club.

Obviously we bottled it as we do at Everton but we still went out and signed him, not only that but he stayed through 2 awful seasons of us finishing 11th.

He gave one last season to Koeman to help us out and he did, we're in Europe because of him.

The fact he signed with us in the first place and stayed for as long as he did (considering how much he complained on int. duty), I can't be too upset with him.

Hope he continues to have a great career and we can say that he played for the mighty blues, as long as he never scores against us and god forbid if he does, I don't want to see any bloody cartwheels or he'll be dead to me.

Will miss his goals but I was honestly more gutted when Stones left.

He just didn't conduct himself well.

We got top bucks for him fair play to the lad and now I hope he falls flat on his arse and we do finish about him for the entire time he is at UTD.

Really? Stones had been with us for one season before he handed in a transfer request.
