Lukaku - A Fond Farewell

I think I disagree with this entire post.

No chance he flops at united.

Gonna bag 20-30 again

You think when he stands about moaning, doesn't track back and only makes runs for his lover Pogba then and goes on one of his dry patches that Jose will stick by him? No chance.

I just think it's a bit naive to believe he will flop when he's got some very good players feeding him, and he's already doing well in preseason (not that that means too much).

Sure, he might have a dry spell but by all accounts they want the Zlatan too which would be excellent for Rom to learn from imo.

Man UTD's fan base is not as reasonable as Everton's.
One or two poor games against a major team is all it will take for the sods to pass him off as a flop, and I reckon there will be plenty of those.
Can't be long until people realize Rom is utterly hopeless when it comes to creating his own chances rather than feeding on the passes of others.
As a top striker you cannot solely depend receiving the ball in a convenient position and a bunch with sky-high expectations like Man UTD want to cherish dribblings and long, spectacular shots, which Rom cannot provide (statistically).

I've always said that Everton was just fine for Rom. In order to make as big a difference he'd have to aim for a lower team. Everton has been until now just between, which is just where Lukaku should place his ambition.
But for any of the Top 6 teams he will turn a bad investment imho. Shame that he has misplaced aspirations.

I guess I just disagree.

Cba really arguing about it right now as I have little time, my opinion is he's going to do very well.

I don't dismiss the possibility of being wrong, it's just what I've seen of him, even at Everton he wasn't a particularly splendid player - if his new teammates somehow manage to feed him then he will do very well for himself. It's just my belief that that will often not be the case.

Mate he's just averaged 20 goals a season for the past four years at Everton.

That's splendid. So many of you called him wrong in his second season and can't admit it. That's not particularly splendid.

I was thrilled with him and rather bitter when he refused to sign, but I never hated/disliked him. (until I saw him partake in Pogba's autistic ritual)
I just estimate that in a team like Man UTD he will be mediocre at best - they will certainly wonder what they spent 75 Milion for.

Yes.

The whole team was geared towards Lukaku - Koeman and Martinez realised that unless you get him in positions to score (which he is good at) then he is useless and we would be toothless.
I said before that Lineker or Cottee in their prime would have scored 35 goals for us last season the chances that were created.

I don't know any Evertonian that is even arsed he has gone. Yes, if we sold him and were left with a Kone-style replacement, but we have moved on. Lukaku will flop badly at Man U. Everton 2014-16 is about his level, Everton 2017-18 will be above his level. Flopped at a world cup and 2 euros, flopped against big teams, flopped (so so badly) in semi finals.

If you offered me a straight swap - Giroud and Sandro for Lukaku, I would take the former all day long. Never mind the fact the we can get the latter plus up to £70m as well.

I will take as much pleasure in watching "Mr 2nd touch is an opposition counter attack" as I did with Moyes. 2 snides. I give it until October before United fans turn en masse against him. The mouthy little rat.

Ever wonder why Barkley wants to leave? He gets criticised publicly by Koeman, who lets Ratulu Lukaku mouth off about "deciding to leave" and the clubs lack of ambition every other week. Why wasn't he fined, why wasn't he disciplined? Small time by Everton. Those last 4/5 games I would have had him at Finch Farm training on match days.

Im gutted hes gone

He will do very well, score about 30 in all competitions I would expect.

Say what you like but nobody can deny he knows how to score lots of goals and as long as the service is there, and it will be at UTD, he will continue to do so.
