Lukaku - A Fond Farewell

People rewriting history again. It's really quite sad.

United finished 6th last season cos they failed to beat lesser opposition at home. These are exactly the types of teams Lukaku scores against I think he will get plenty of goals for United but will still fall short in the really big games. If he helps them back into a title challenging team they have got a good deal. Whatever happens we got a good deal as we made a massive profit.

One thing I've noticed of the preseason United games is that Rom isn't doing his normal frustrated complaining pointing to the area in front of him whenever someone decides he isn't the best option. Wonder if this habit will resurface when he becomes more comfortable with the team or if someone's had a good talking to him.

Or maybe he just gets better passes now and there won't be a reason to complain and point? They don't seem to have a ball-keeping, dribbling Ross.

he probably doesn't feel he's better than everyone there and the club... his kiss ass comments to the fans and manager are an example of it... He'll do well there I reckon, I'm glad he's gone though.

He is still pointing where he wants the ball, but he gets the ball then, so he doesn't have anything to complain about

Man UTD's fan base is not as reasonable as Everton's.
One or two poor games against a major team is all it will take for the sods to pass him off as a flop, and I reckon there will be plenty of those.
Can't be long until people realize Rom is utterly hopeless when it comes to creating his own chances rather than feeding on the passes of others.
As a top striker you cannot solely depend receiving the ball in a convenient position and a bunch with sky-high expectations like Man UTD want to cherish dribblings and long, spectacular shots, which Rom cannot provide (statistically).

I've always said that Everton was just fine for Rom. In order to make as big a difference he'd have to aim for a lower team. Everton has been until now just between, which is just where Lukaku should place his ambition.
But for any of the Top 6 teams he will turn a bad investment imho. Shame that he has misplaced aspirations.
As if our fan base is that reasonable, utter bollocks

Most I've seen of Everton fans, they seem to be well-adjusted, level headed, and realistic as far as understanding football goes.
Can't be said about clubs like Man UTD and Chelsea. Could be because the fanbase is a lot more narrow in numbers than those others, and where there's a lot of people, there's bound to be a significant bunch of clueless sods that stand out.

he didn't do it when he first came to us either

I've little doubt his tantrums will re-emeerge once the novelty wears off

Basically he gets frustrated when he isn't scoring or being supplied.

Exactly what you want from a striker.
