Lukaku - A Fond Farewell

Also a massive Thank You to Jose. Gave us a great young striker at a reasonable fee and then laced our pockets and gave us his replacement in exchange four years later. He's Ok Jose.

Good player but never showed up when it mattered. Hopefully he'll have a dodgy run and end up next to Mourinho on the bench. United will not put up with going missing for games on end with zero work rate. Abiding memory will be player who scored plenty of goals but had a small heart and no bottle or class!

I liked the player alot too.

I just think he'll end up being a Nicholas Anelka type. Played for huge clubs, scored lots, bounced at some not so big clubs, and not fondly remembered.
Yep, I'd have had a bit of respect if he wouldn't have mouthed off any chance he got. Not a word about Everton so far either. 20 odd goals is hard to replace but I've got a feeling we'll be better without him and his cronies.

The final half dozen games of last season, showed his true character.

He switched off, as his head was already elsewhere.

He doesn't deserve one. He showed us little respect over the time he was here.
Thanks n all that but see ye.

Like his agent has no respect and brown noses Jose but whatever floats your boat. Your goals were great but you as a person you are a waste of time. Should have nothing but respect for us yet all your bothered about is saying how amazing and big a club united are NO CLASS what so ever so thanks but no thanks glad your gone onto the next player who will give this club everything including CLASS

I said this at the time stones left but I have absolutely no interest now in what lukaku does the same as I did for stones. No fond farewells, no "I wish them well" I've no interest as they both no longer wear our shirt so they don't actually register to me. I know he scored a few goals for us but that ended last season, I'm now only interested in how all our new players will gel and how they perform for the team I love. Bring on stoke!!!

The events of today have showed that we are losing a player who will only get better and gaining one who will only get worse and that is nothing to be celebrated for me.
Football is a team game though, and if the team gets stronger then we cold have something tangible to celebrate.

That'd only be true if it were like for like and nothing else considered.

The truth is there's £90m to account for too, and vast reinforcements to the squad.

My view? We've got rid of a striker who broke our team and made us ponderously predictable, and brought in a forward who might be decent, might not, but will be complimented by half a dozen other additions to the squad which will make our team vastly superior to any one that would include Lukaku.

The question of whether Lukaku is a bellend (he certainly seems to be) is very different to the question of whether we'll miss him (we probably will, he was very good for us).

The manager has a tough job to replace him. Not impossible, we've done it before with less resources. But a tough job, nonetheless.
