Lukaku - A Fond Farewell

Best striker I've seen play for us since Lineker mate. I don't think he'll ever be truly world class, but he'll get very close.

Didn't see Lineker myself but agree he'll be close to world class. Just wish we'd finally get to a stage where either owners dont sell off our stars or better where they dont want to leave.

Today was a sore one seeing him help put us to the cleaners. But we all had a fair idea it was coming so chin up move on. 2 wins needed this week.

Some of you need to desensitize yourselves if your really arsed about Lukaku's antics - to be honest that sentiment applies to any other player.

Football has suddenly become very 'PC' and its now customary for an EX-player to 'show respect' - why?

He's no attachment to you personally, its a job at the end of the day, so whats the problem.
Would you cry-arses have moaned if Rooney scored today and celebrated?

Seemingly you're happy to give it the 'big guns', but get faux upset over nothing.
If all you've taken from this game is to get upset about is Lukaku, you've limited priorities when it comes to football.

The days of top players staying at any club are over mate. Even if we were as successful as the like of ManU are perceived to be, top players will still leave. Money and agents fees have totally changed things and Rom is the result of that.

It's not his fault, and no-one can really blame him for following the money to fulfill his ambitions, and it's no real surprise that he sometimes acts like a spoilt brat, because that's also a result of the situation, and many of us would likely act like spoilt brats in the same situation.

It is what it is. I was there today...did he get some howling derision every time he touched the ball? No. It was like when we went to City and saw Stones in a different shirt. Some booing and excitement at first but to be honest, you end up watching the game rather than some millionaire who used to play for the team we support.

Difference today versus the draw a City in the league & stones was, in my opinion, Lukaku missed a sitter and it troubled him. The lad loves the positive headlines and even his assist couldn't make up for his miss. We were in the game and should have equalised..our performance should be what we talk about, not our record sale who popped a tap in to give the result a better gloss.

Getting wound up over a footballer who doesn't play for our team anymore ain't much to get excited about. He'll go to Chelsea and at some stage score. I won't be bothered either, but some in the Harding stand will be. Not even a story for me. shock...footballer celebrates after scoring against former team. Get over it, we have enough to fix in our game first.

I don't think it's too much to ask for respect mate.

I don't care if he scores and cartwheels to the half way line, I really don't. However, gesturing to our fans is not banter, it's un-necessary goading.

I hope his welcome is warm at Goodison :)

Standard. Pops up with goals when the game is already put to bed. Anyone could score goals for them. Never be world class except in his own head.
