They finished 2nd in spite of him... Not because of him. Scored something like 4 league goals in 19 games from October till the end of January. Shocking.

However.... in fairness to him he was keen to impress so he actually worked hard for them at this stage.

The reason I mentioned Suarez is because he's a perfect example of what can happen when you drop a world-class player into a previously mid-table team. Someone of that calibre is worth breaking the bank to get (not that they actually had to spend much at all).

Completely agree. United have had some classic strikers.... RVP, RVN, Yorke, Rooney, solksjaer, Cole and now they have Rom who probably almost the same amout as that lot combined.....

United need to go all out for Mbappe. Rom may find himself at Lyon, Real Sociedad something along those lines.
 
Poor again.... he's just not anywhere near good enough for the level he thinks he should be playing at. Unfortunately for him modern football places a bit of importance on being able to control and pass a ball etc.

Just play Sanchez up front or go for a front two of Sanchez and Lukaku, so Sanchez does the movement and technical things that Lukaku is completely incapable of and frees him up to effectively goal hang.

I like Mourinho but it baffles me how he's used Sanchez. I thought it was the perfect signing to get the best from Lukaku but he simply hasn't been used right.

The ball is won in midfield, United need to stick it to their forward to build an attack, with two wide players ready to attack in a 3 on 4 opportunity.

So what does Rom do? He ignores his responsibility to the team and runs to get in behind a defence instead, meaning chance gone and he looks stupid. If you look at it carefully, he knows the ball was short, and he can't be arsed turning round to get it - he just lumbers forward and sulks.

It's amazing that a player like that is leading the line on his own at a club like United. If he's in a front two and his job is to solely get in behind, then great, he's not awful at that, but he's a massive liability on his own.

He used to do that all the that at Everton and some fans said we weren't getting the ball to his runs.... comical.
 
Would love him back here. I would go as far to say that add him and a CM and we would be genuine top 4 contenders.

Imagine him alongside Bernard and Richarlison? I think thrybwoukd end up putting him in some Brazilian jujitsu chokehold and tap him out for shinning another pass.
