he does, mate
He's a world class goalscorer but the rest of his play at times can be lacking.
That's the thing though, he's bang average by Liverpool standards. But not by Everton standards.Watching some Everton fans appear all "Rom-antic" is a bit sad.
The reason it's sad is that if he had played for that lot across the park he wouldn't even register on their minds as being anything other than an average player and someone back in the queue behind the likes of Torres, Suarez, Fowler, Owen, Firminho, Salah, Mane, Rush, Collymore....
He hit the 15 goal barrier 3 out of 4 seasons and the 20 goal barrier once hitting 25. Hardly Roy of the Rovers. Better rate than what we seen with the previous strikers we bought (Where if you add up the combined cost of AJ,Yak, Beattie, Saha, it still falls less than the cost of Rom) ... but aside the financial cost what did he also cost?
For me the true cost of Lukakus goals was that the team was all over the shop because of him. His inability to look after a ball cost us heavily... his pass completion, duels won and quite honestly his lack of effort in doing the hard yards was painful to watch. Remember his last game for us at old Trafford? The defence going nuts at him ...Yeah.
The teammates who he constantly berated when they couldn't make the ball reach him through the markers he attached himself to - and forever had to run like blue arsed flies to cover a Rom inspired counter attack from our opponents couldn't rely on him to help us close a game out cos he had to take 20 yard pot shots as part of his job interview.
All this "I wish we had a poor striker like him now" nonsense is laughable. He will be available cut price next year.... his true attitude is showing at old Trafford now.
Oh look, I was right.
Amazing eh.
I'm eating, you rotter. He's currently being held down by Mourinho and Fred while Phil Jones curls one out on his face.
Oh look, I was right.
