Lukaku to Spurs

He's only ever performed when he's had something to prove for himself.

He scored goals off the bench for Brom because he thought he should be starting. He scored goals early doors this season to shove it up Jose and prove he should be starting here. He scored goals after injury to prove he was fit again.

Now he knows nobody can take his spot in this team, and he's already thinking about where he can play next. He's not arsed about the team, and he thinks he is considerably better than he is.

Give me someone with some heart, please.

I think in terms of strikers it really is horses for courses, strikers will perform differently in different systems. For example, I dont think Sturridge would score half the goals for everton what he has scored in that liverpool system. Hopefully this is where Kone might surprise a few as at least we know he is tried and tested in a Martinez system.

Or maybe I am clutching at straws there.

Is that Iain Dowie in your avatar mate?

You know what, I'm going to come right out and say it: I hope Spurs sign him for 20m. The headlines would no doubt be "Spurs swoop under the noses of Everton to sign Lukaku" but little do they know...

That fact that he can't play with his back to goal is a massive massive flaw in his game and is why he will never be a top striker (the best example of this in the premier league is abebayor when he is on form).

Every time I have thought 'wow he absolutely bossed that game' he has played on the wing (including at WBA) and is why i think that he should play there. However i think he believes too much in his own hype at the moment and wants to be a striker so I doubt it will happen which is a shame as he has everything he needs to be a world class winger.

Most of Bony's are set pieces and peno's, would rather have lukaku's 13 from open play, not that I don't rate bony, lukaku is technically better but at least you are guaranteed bony will scare defences and hold it up as much as he can and give his all, but I would take neither for next season,

Off that list its either Lukaku OR the same runoured fee spent on a foreign u21 aged forward cant be signing more over the hill players.

It was less than 3 weeks ago he was bossing the show in an unfamiliar RW role against Arsenal.

Strikers are notoriously inconsistent, 20 year old ones even more so, and he has played lots of games this season without being subbed. Even if he can physically handle it, it has to be hard mentally. He is probably also missing Mirallas who can read his game very well.

He fluffed a couple of good chances but at least he was in the correct position to miss them vs Jela who by the end was usually offside or on the floor.

The only thing that really worries me is his first touch but even with that he is the best natural striker we have had at the club in years.

Jelavic keeps scoring recently. What ashame. He may want to leave but we have no option bar Lukaku up front since January.
