If Diego Costa joins Chelsea I can see one off Torres/Ba offloaded and then I can see Lukaku will be playing as a rotational player at Chelsea. He's just 20.

At this point I think the club has to at least put in a bid for him. Not making the CL limits things financially but if you bring in a couple of free players and a couple of loans you can cover the holes in the side as well as sign Lukaku for 20-24M plus someone else for around 7. I would sign him if it meant selling a player like Gibson to make things easier financially.

He's always said he doesn't want to be a second choice striker though, which is why he wanted to come to us on loan this season. I just can't see him staying at Chelsea as I don't think Mourinho deems him good enough to lead Chelsea's line (rightly or wrongly) and he won't want to play second fiddle.

Well then in that case I don't see any established CL club that would put Lukaku as their front line striker. Maybe Athletico could swap Costa with him plus cash but seema unlikely as they'd want an established striker too. So I think right now Lukaku is looking to jump a few steps. He needs to be patient for a couple of years maybe, make his name at a big club like us and then look for a great club in the CL

I am holding that visual image of Romelu leaping in to Roberto's arms after scoring against Arsenal. Gives me some hope that he loves it enough at GP not to want to leave any time soon. Read in the Telegraph that there is a whisper of another year of loan? No idea if that's kosher

I think he proved in the last few weeks of the season and the period around new year that he's liable to major dips in form. The fact that he feels he "needs" CL footy at this early stage in his career is a bit of a misnomer for me personally - the guy needs to concentrate on his consistency in the Premier League first and foremost.
I'd genuinely be surprised if he went back to Chelsea and actually started getting loads of games for them next season. He just hasn't hit that level yet and Mourinho plans to spend on attacking options in the summer you feel.

Hasn't impressed me enough on a consistent basis for me so hope spuds do get him and that keeps them from challenging for top 4 next season, seems as if he knows he is too good so he doesn't have to try, I mean start proving yourself week in week out, then ask for CL footy. Even pissed me off when he was having a giggle before second half yesterday.
